Yuga Labs responds to BAYC racism claims

Gordon Goner, one of the founders of the Bored Apes Yacht Club, has denounced the disinformation effort suggesting that he and his cofounders are Nazis.

  • Yuga Labs has reacted to accusations that their Bored Ape NFTs are racist.
  • Yuga Labs has stated that it intends to sue people who made the claims.
  • Snoop Dogg and Eminem's Bored Apes NFT is featured in a new music video.

In a blog post titled A message from the Founder, he stated that the group of buddies behind Bored Apes include Jewish, Turkish, Cuban, and Pakistani, making it unreasonable for them to be Nazis.

While the allegations have been in the press for several months, he has not responded "because frankly, they are ridiculously far-fetched," he claims.

However, a video on YouTube by a podcaster claiming to have spent six months investigating ties between BAYC and Nazi symbology looks to be the final straw. The video, which has almost a million views, has sparked more discussion regarding what Goner refers to as a conspiracy.

Meanwhile, Goner alleged that the charges are the work of anti-BAYC activist Ryder Ripps. Ripps had previously duplicated BAYC artwork for his NFT collection and sold part of it on OpenSea before being punished for copyright violations.

Furthermore, Goner stated that all Yuga Labs and BAYC symbolisms are inspired by video games in the sense of "irreverence and ridiculousness." Yuga Labs, for example, was named after the villain in Zelda, and all four founders selected their pseudonyms based on private jokes and peculiarities.

In addition, he denied, among other things, that the business was founded on the anniversary of Hitler's death.

Snoop Dogg and Eminem Drop Video Featuring Bored Apes

While there have been several disputes on the subject, one thing is certain: BAYC holders don't appear to care. Celebrities continue to choose the blue-chip NFT, including famed rappers Eminem and Snoop Dogg, who just produced a new single titled "From The D 2 The LBC."

Both rappers, who are also BAYC holders, appear in the song video as Bored Apes from the collection. Before the final release yesterday, the film was shown at Ape Fest 2022. It has already received 4.4 million views on YouTube.

Bored Apes, on the other hand, continues to do poorly in terms of sales volume. There has been a 23.31 percent decrease in the previous 24 hours, and the last seven days have been much worse, with a 53.62 percent drop.
