New Jets quarterback Zach Wilson was on the field for the first time as a pro on Friday.
Wilson is taking part in the Jets’ rookie minicamp over this weekend. Wilson, wearing a red No. 2 jersey, did a few individual drills, working with offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur and passing game specialist Greg Knapp during the portion of practice open to the media.

There was not much to take away from the open media window. The 7-on-7 drills were done without media there. Jets coach Robert Saleh said he is not trying to hide Wilson, but wanted to give him some time to learn in a low-pressure environment.
The Jets drafted Wilson No. 2 overall on April 30. He is the only quarterback in the rookie camp, so he should get plenty of work.
