The 44-year-old defending Masters champion’s first two shots on the hole rolled into Rae’s Creek, where he sent another ball from the bunker across the green. The septuple-bogey moved Woods to 4-over for the tournament.
Woods, who began the day 11 shots back of leader Dustin Johnson, did manage to record five birdies over his final six holes to finish the tournament 1-under, but the ignominy was already cemented.
