Life has changed a lot for the Gosselin family since 2007, when they landed their own reality television show, Jon & Kate Plus 8.

Jon and Kate divorced in 2009 after 10 years of marriage and their kids — sextuplets Collin, Hannah, Leah, Alexis, Aaden and Joel and twins Cara and Made — no longer all live under one roof.

In December 2018, the DJ was awarded sole custody of Collin, who was previously attending a program for children with special needs. Hannah also resides with her dad, while the rest of siblings are with Kate.

Hopefully none of Kourtney Kardashian’s kids are blanket hogs! The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star raved about co-sleeping in a January 2018 blog post. “I didn’t have to get up out of bed to get the kids back to sleep when they woke up during the night,” she wrote. “It was easier when one of the kids woke up, since I was right there. Co-sleeping just ended up feeling like we all got more sleep.”

The E! personality, who shares Mason, Penelope and Reign with ex Scott Disick, revealed that the practice helped with mom guilt. “Also, as a working mom, if I didn’t have much time with the kids during the day, at least I knew we’d have the evening together as a family,” she shared. “Every kid is different, so if it works for you and your family, that’s the most important thing!”

Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson were adjusting to life with 7-month-old daughter Maxwell in 2012, when the couple learned they were expecting baby No. 2.

“Apparently it was part of God’s plan for my life,” a laughing Simpson revealed on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno in 2013. “I was extremely shocked . . . because I was going through a lot of hormonal changes, trying to get back to the old vibrant Jessica.”

The fashion mogul and the former NFL player welcomed their son, Ace, in June 2013. Brother and sister are 13 months apart in age!

Time to show off those brand new backpacks and lunchboxes! Celebrity parents including Chrissy Teigen, Kristen Bell and Wiz Khalifa have been sharing adorable back-to-school pictures on Instagram.

An emotional Teigen posted a snap of her daughter Luna looking at a book of pictures as she headed off for her first day. “They had us make a little family photo album she can look at when she’s sad or upset. She loves it,” wrote the model. “My heart ksosksodododosksidojsjskodmskzh.”

Katherine Heigl revealed she cried when the bus came for her daughters, Nancy and Adelaide, but she quickly recovered by pouring herself a glass of champagne. “CHEERS TO SEVEN WHOLE HOURS WITH ONLY ONE KID NEEDING MY ATTENTION!!” the Suits actress joked.

Hospitals are so sterile! James Van Der Beek and his wife, Kimberly, welcomed baby No. 5 in the comfort of their bedroom on June 15, 2018. The Dawson’s Creek alum shared a photo of the post-birth scene and titled it “Home-Birth Realness.”

There are plenty of perks to delivering where you live. As Van Dmayim er Beek noted in his Instagram post, Kimberly was “in her own shower right after giving birth.”

Jessica Simpson revealed that she and husband Eric Johnson were suffering from “baby fever” in April 2018. “We always practice,” the pop-star-turned-fashion-mogul told Entertainment Tonight about having a third child. “But it would definitely have to be a miracle.”

Five months later, on September 18, Simpson announced on Instagram that Maxwell and Ace would be getting little sister. “This baby girl will make us a family of five,” the singer wrote. “We couldn’t be happier to announce this precious blessing of life.”

Birdie Mae made her debut in March 2019, and the fashion designer celebrated her youngest’s 1st birthday the following year with an Instagram slideshow.

“You have created in me a healing purposeful life to live most fully and love most deeply,” Simpson wrote to her “angel baby” in March 2020. “With you my soul has been set free to the beauty of pure light. She and Johnson started growing their family in 2012 and tied the knot two years later. The Texas native called the athlete her “perfect soulmate” on their 6th wedding anniversary in July 2020.

“Our unity was written in God’s sky of colliding stars,” she captioned a photo with the former professional football player. “Together we manifest dreams, nurture desire and hold space. Destined, it always has been and always will be, forevermore.”

Celebrity Parents Who Are Winning the Elf on the Shelf Game: Pics

The Elf on the Shelf trend has taken the Christmas season by storm. Some celebrity parents such as Busy Philipps have concocted elaborate scenes, while others including Vanessa Lachey and Behati Prinsloo prefer to keep it simple.

The holiday tradition stems from the idea that Santa Claus sends his elves to children’s homes during the day to scout and report back to him about their behavior. The next day, the elf assumes a new position in the house.

When Philipps tried it out in 2018, the Dawson’s Creek alum created a beach scene with her daughters’ toys. Prinsloo propped her elf up against a stone wall in 2016, while Lachey placed hers on a lighting fixture in 2015.

Kourtney Kardashian, for her part, placed an elf on a pool table for her children in 2015. The following year, the Poosh founder found an old letter for her eldest son, Mason, that was written by her family’s elf. In the note, the elf asked for Mason to “be patient and kind” as he waited for “something special” from Santa.

Melissa Joan Hart has also practiced the Elf of the Shelf tradition with her children over the years. In 2018, she had three elves visit her sons Tucker, Mason and Braydon.

Two years later, the Sabrina the Teenage Witch alum put a twist on the trend by placing a cardboard cutout of Will Ferrell’s Elf character outside her home. “Our elves brought a new friend to play last night… slide for a closer 👀 #buddytheelfwhatsyourfavoritecolor,” she wrote via Instagram in December 2020.

Amid the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, celebrities brought a whole new meaning to the elf on the shelf tradition with rhyming memes. Elizabeth Banks got the movement started with the help of Tom Hanks, who appeared in miniature size on her left shoulder. “I know you’ve all heard of Elf on the Shelf, but have you heard of… ” she wrote via Instagram, implying “Hanks-on-a-Banks.”

Other stars participated in the meme trend including Reese Witherspoon, who put Grease stars Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta on her shoulder and wrote, “Oh hey @elizabethbanks! I see your Hanks-on-Banks and I raise you a Grease-on-Reese.” Kerry Washington did “Perry-on-Kerry” by using Katy Perry, while Jennifer Garner did “Penn-on-Jen” using Sean Penn.

The claws will come out if you mess with a mama. Case in point: Khloe Kardashian ripped into a Twitter user who called her daughter True “not cute at all.”

A disgusted Kardashian fired back, “What type of disgusting human being are you? It’s pathetic that you are this miserable in your life.”

Of course, the Revenge Body host isn’t the only famous parent who has gone off on mom-shamers. Kourteney Kardashian, Kristin Cavallari, Cardi B, Chrissy Teigen and Jana Kramer have all defended themselves against the parent police on social media.

Teigen explained to Parenting.com in 2017: “You can call me whatever you want. You can call me ugly, you can say my forehead is big, you can say my dress is hideous but once you start talking about my food and my child that’s when I get really crazy.” (The model has been criticized for everything from flying in her third trimester to using plastic bath toys.)

The cookbook author, who is mom of Luna and Miles, noted, “I think people should remember that everyone is just doing their best.”
