“I haven’t changed from Lindale at all,” she told Refinery29 in October 2019, referencing the Texas town where she was raised. “The only thing that has changed is that now I live in Nashville, I spend time in New York, and I have had a really amazing journey artistically so my career is on this path. Other than that, I’m still this same booze and jeans girl that I was before I left.”

Lambert released her first album, Kerosene, in 2005. Six years later, she teamed up with fellow country singer-songwriters Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley to form Pistol Annies. The trio’s debut, Hell on Heels, hit stores soon after Lambert’s wedding to Blake Shelton.

As her star continued to rise, the hitmaker’s personal life also became a hot topic.

The daughter of actors Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand grew up in Los Angeles and decided to follow in her famous parents’ footsteps after failing to succeed as a model. “I think you learn different lessons in every relationship,” the model said in a behind-the-scenes video for her Calvin Klein campaign in February 2020. “So I think I’ve learned so many different things from so many different relationships.”

She added: “A lot of the relationships have taught me more about myself, which is the most valuable. And like, what I want from a person or from a relationship.”

The Kendall + Kylie cofounder’s first public romance was with Styles, to whom she was linked in 2013 before sparking reconciliation rumors two years later on a trip to Anguilla with the former One Direction singer.

Despite going their separate ways, the pair have remained close — which Jenner has done with more than one of her exes.

The Mark Cherry-created mystery comedy-drama made its debut on ABC October 3, 2004, with main cast members Teri Hatcher (Susan Mayer), Felicity Huffman (Lynette Scavo), Marcia Cross (Bree Van de Kamp) and Eva Longoria (Gabrielle Solis) playing a group of women living on the same fictional street.

The boundary-pushing show, which was narrated by Brenda Strong (as the late Mary Alice Young), became a massive success with viewers and TV critics alike. During its eight-season run, Desperate Housewives picked up countless accolades, including seven Primetime Emmys and three Golden Globe Awards.

When the series came to an end on May 13, 2012, it surpassed Charmed as the longest-running hourlong TV show featuring all-female leads. In total, 180 episodes aired, topping the WB supernatural drama’s 178.

In addition to the core four, the ever-changing Desperate Housewives cast included Nicollette Sheridan (Edie Britt), Dana Delany (Katherine Mayfair), Vanessa Williams (Renee Perry), Steven Culp (Rex Van de Kamp), Ricardo Antonio Chavira (Carlos Solis), James Denton (Mike Delfino), Doug Savant (Tom Scavo) and Kyle MacLachlan (Orson Hodge), among many others.

Five years after its finale, Longoria expressed interest in reuniting with her fellow housewives, telling NewBeauty in December 2017 that she misses the show “every single day.”

She added: “I miss being Gaby. I miss being on that set. I miss everything about it.”

Amid the coronavirus pandemic in April 2020, some of the cast virtually reunited to raise money for The Actors Fund, causing a bigger outcry for a real revival of the drama.

“We were a true dramedy,” the Devious Maids alum told fans during the video chat. “We were always a joke and then that gravity would take you by surprise, and that’s what I loved about the show — we got to do two things.”

Longoria continued: “We’ve all created these amazing friendships outside the show that are lasting forever.”

The HBO crime drama began in January 1999 with Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini) reluctantly walking into the office of his new psychiatrist, Jennifer Melfi (Lorraine Bracco), after having a panic attack. The pilot set the stage for what was to come: countless clashes between Tony and Dr. Melfi, awe-inspiring patience from Tony’s wife, Carmela Soprano (Edie Falco), and children, Meadow (Jamie-Lynn Sigler) and A.J. (Robert Iler), and perhaps more mafia-related bullets and bloodshed than TV had ever seen before.

Viewers followed Tony as he tried to juggle everyday life at home in New Jersey with his role as the boss of a notorious crime family. At times, he struggled to do so. His serial womanizing tested his marriage to Carmela, and his short temper often made waves with his mother, Livia Soprano (Nancy Marchand), his nephew Christopher Moltisanti (Michael Imperioli) and other close relatives.

And yet, fans loved tuning in to Tony’s antics week after week, flaws and all. In fact, they grew so attached to his character over the years that some had trouble separating real life from fiction.

“I was living in the meat-market district on the far West Side [of New York City], below 14th Street,” Gandolfini recalled to Vanity Fair in April 2007, two months before the series finale aired. “I heard this banging on the outside door and screaming. It was late, like after midnight. So I opened the door, and the guy turns white. All of a sudden I realize, ‘Oh, f—k, he thinks I’m Tony.’”

Viewers were also entranced by Meadow and A.J., who quickly became aware of their father’s criminal activities as the show went on, as well as Christopher’s struggles with love, addiction and trying to live up to his uncle’s expectations.

In a testament to its success, the David Chase-created series took home 21 Primetime Emmys, five Golden Globes and two Peabody Awards, among other accolades. It also spawned a successful video game, merchandise and, most recently, podcasts hosted by cast members including Imperioli, Steve Schirripa and Drea de Matteo. A prequel movie titled The Many Saints of Newark is due in 2021, starring the late Gandolfini’s son, Michael Gandolfini, as a young Tony.

The Grammy winner has not released an album since January 2016, when she dropped her magnum opus, Anti, which included the blockbuster singles “Work” featuring Drake, “Needed Me,” “Kiss It Better” and “Love on the Brain.” Since then, she has been teasing and teasing and teasing her next project, but other ventures — namely her multimillion-dollar Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin brands — have delayed the process.

#R9, as fans have temporarily dubbed the album, has been in the works for at least two years. Rihanna first confirmed that she was “in the studio and working on new music” in June 2018 while appearing on The Graham Norton Show. Even then, she stayed mum about the details, teasing, “You’ll just have to wait and see.”

When asked for an update 15 months later, the Barbados native was equally tight-lipped. “Well, obviously, I’m a confident woman, so whatever I do, it’s gon’ be confident — whether it’s the album, perfume, lingerie, makeup or fashion,” she told Entertainment Tonight in September 2019. “Y’all gon’ have to wait, Navy. I’m so sorry.”

That said, not everything about the album has been top-secret. Rihanna confirmed that it is inspired by her reggae and dancehall roots, and Pharrell Williams and The-Dream are on the shortlist of producers helping her pull it all together. As for the release date, well, even RiRi has no idea.

Since 2011, Queen Bey has been sending her dedicated legion of fans into overdrive with the many unexpected twists and turns in both her personal and professional lives. To date, she has surprise-announced four albums, two films and two pregnancies in ways that no one else could.

It all started at the MTV Video Music Awards in August 2011. When Beyoncé took the stage to perform her single “Love on Top,” the star-studded audience had no idea that she had something up her sleeve — or someone in her belly. The couple first laid eyes on each other at the Bachelor mansion in March 2018 while filming the premiere of the publicist’s season of The Bachelorette, which aired that May. They hit it off instantly, and the medical sales representative ended up walking away with the first impression rose.

Over the weeks that followed, Kufrin developed close bonds with contestants including Blake Horstmann, Jason Tartick and Colton Underwood, but viewers noticed that she particularly had a twinkle in her eye whenever Yrigoyen was around.

“For those who are curious about my relationship with Garrett at this point, all I can say right now is I don’t know,” she told fans at the time. “I can’t give anything more than that. It’s something that we are trying to work through and discuss and do work on at home at this time, and that’s where the work will remain.”

Then, after months of speculation, Kufrin confirmed in September 2020 that their engagement was off.

Within three years, she sold an estimated $360 million worth of Kylie Cosmetics products (at the time, she owned a 100 percent stake in the company). Then, in March 2019, Forbes announced that she had officially reached billionaire status.

“I didn’t expect anything. I did not foresee the future,” Jenner — who snagged the youngest-ever title from Mark Zuckerberg, the Facebook cofounder who reached a ten-figure fortune at age 23 — told the magazine at the time. “But [the recognition] feels really good. That’s a nice pat on the back.”

Four months later, Forbes revoked her billionaire status, alleging that she has lied about company figures and forged tax returns to “look even richer.” She disputed the “Inside Kylie Jenner’s Web of Lies” report, tweeting at the time, “I’ve never asked for any title or tried to lie my way there EVER. period. … ‘even creating tax returns that were likely forged” that’s your proof? so you just THOUGHT they were forged? like actually what am i reading.”

Numbers aside, the reality star’s empire also includes a distribution deal with Ulta Beauty and a skincare line, and she has filed trademarks for possible hair and baby products. On top of all that, she boasts over 178 million followers on Instagram, 33-plus million on Twitter and countless more on Snapchat and TikTok.

“It’s the power of social media,” Jenner told Forbes in 2019, crediting her brand’s mega success to the fan-favorite platforms. “I had such a strong reach before I was able to start anything.”

Of course, the former Life of Kylie star has her über-famous family to thank too. Parents Kris Jenner and Caitlyn Jenner as well as siblings Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, Rob Kardashian and Kendall Jenner all have empires of their own.

Three of the Terminator star’s five children have followed in his footsteps and made names for themselves in the entertainment industry: Katherine Schwarzenegger, a self-help and children’s book author; Christina Schwarzenegger, an up-and-coming producer; and Patrick Schwarzenegger, an actor and model.

Maria Shriver, who was married to Arnold from 1986 to 2017, is famous in her own right too. After volunteering for her father Sargent Shriver’s 1972 vice presidential campaign, the niece of the late President John F. Kennedy became a broadcast journalist. With Emmy and Peabody Awards under her belt, she has coanchored shows including Sunday Today, NBC Nightly News and Dateline in addition to covering the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea.

Arnold and Maria are also the parents of Christopher Schwarzenegger. Additionally, the former California governor has a third son, Joseph Baena, whom he shares with the family’s former housekeeper Mildred “Patty” Baena. Their affair prompted the journalist to file for divorce from her husband of 25 years in 2011.

Arnold opened up about his well-known family during a 2015 appearance on The Howard Stern Show, saying his five children “just do their own thing.” And while many of them have chosen to pursue careers in the public eye, the patriarch promised to give them two thumbs-up regardless.

“I made it very clear to my kids: I don’t care if they’re a plumber, if they’re a writer or if they’re a teacher,” he said on the SiriusXM talk show at the time. “Whatever they want to do, [I will support them], as long as they’re passionate.”

It all started with Eddie McGee, who became the first player to walk away with the $500,000 grand prize. Since then, the Julie Chen-hosted CBS reality competition has taken over televisions across the U.S. every summer — plus bonus seasons in 2008 and 2016 — and it has only become more popular as the years have gone by.

To date, 22 everyday people have won Big Brother (not including celebrity winners Marissa Jaret Winokur and Tamar Braxton) and become household names in their own right. Many of them, like Jordan Lloyd and Rachel Reilly, have continued to work with CBS through the years, making guest appearances at the Big Brother house as well as competing on the network’s other reality shows such as The Amazing Race.

Other winners have found success on competitor channels, most notably MTV, which started incorporating Big Brother houseguests on programs including Ex on the Beach and The Challenge in recent years.

Some Big Brother champs, on the other hand, have completely shied away from the spotlight. Season 4 winner Jun Song moved to Belgium after her reality TV stint, while season 5’s Drew Daniel and season 6’s Maggie Ausburn do not even have social media accounts.

With that said, there are plenty of winners who continue to keep fans up-to-date on their personal lives. Lloyd and Reilly, for example, both found love during their time in the game, marrying and starting families with Jeff Schroeder and Brendon Villegas, respectively. Season 8’s Dick “Evel Dick” Donato and season 10’s Dan Gheesling, for their part, have developed fan bases thanks to their online presences.

The mother of Prince William and Prince Harry died at the age of 36 after a car accident in Paris that resulted from her driver, Henri Paul, fleeing the paparazzi. Paul and Diana’s boyfriend, Dodi Fayed, were also killed in the crash, while her bodyguard, Trevor Rees-Jones, survived with serious injuries.

Diana’s funeral became one of the U.K.’s most-watched TV programs of all time, and the touching tributes to the late Princess of Wales continue on to this day.

Diana, who married into the royal family when she wed Prince Charles in 1981, was celebrated for her dedication to dozens of charities, most notably ones that aided sick children and people affected by HIV/AIDS, cancer and mental illnesses. In the mid-‘80s, she famously shook hands with a man living with AIDS, publicly challenging the notion that HIV could be passed from person to person through physical contact. She also served as the president of Great Ormond Street Hospital in London from 1989 until her death.

In recent years, the royals have paid tribute to Diana in countless interviews, in addition to commemorating her birthday and the anniversary of her death. Harry has spoken about the regrets he felt in the wake of his mother’s death, while William has shared some of his fondest memories of their time together. The brothers — who were 15 and 12, respectively, when Diana died — did not speak publicly about her passing until they were older.

“There are not many days that go by that I don’t think of her,” the Duke of Cambridge said in the 2017 HBO documentary Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy. The Duke of Sussex, for his part, noted that he has “a lot of grief that still needs to be let out.”

The Golden Globe nominee and the Saturday Night Live star were first spotted together in May 2017 at an afterparty celebrating the NBC variety show’s season 42 finale. They continued to be hot and heavy through the summer, often spending weekends and holidays together on the East End of Long Island.

That December, the couple made their first public appearance together at the American Museum of Natural History Gala in New York City. They also debuted their relationship on TV that month when they held hands while ice-skating at Rockefeller Center on a holiday-themed episode of SNL.

Jost supported Johansson at the Los Angeles premiere of her movie Avengers: Infinity War in April 2018, marking their first official red carpet appearance as a pair. The next month, he called Johansson his “girlfriend” during a “Weekend Update” segment on SNL.

The low-key couple continued to hit red carpets together through the end of 2018, attending the Met Gala in May and the Emmys in September. By February 2019, Us Weekly broke the news that the duo had moved in together.

“Colin is still head over heels for Scarlett,” a source told Us at the time. “He thinks she is incredible, kind, beautiful. He is beyond doting to her and loves showing her off when they’re out. Scarlett loves Colin too, and they are in it for the long haul. … Colin gets a starry-eyed look in his eyes when he talks about her.”

Since June 2019, the Grammy winner has been at war with the big-wig business partners over the rights to the music she recorded before switching to Republic Records the previous November. Braun acquired Big Machine and Swift’s back catalog of master recordings as part of an estimated $300 million deal.

Shortly after the acquisition news broke, the “Bad Blood” singer took to Tumblr to alert fans that she “had to make the excruciating choice to leave behind my past.” In her blog post, she claimed she “learned about Scooter Braun’s purchase of my masters as it was announced to the world” and called out the talent manager for years of “incessant, manipulative bullying” at the hands of his clients Justin Bieber and Kanye West. She called the deal her “worst case scenario.”

Borchetta and Braun’s wife, Yael Cohen, were among those who publicly rebutted the claims in the Tumblr post, while celebrities including Halsey, Kelly Clarkson, Ed Sheeran and Cher sided with Swift.

The drama eventually simmered down, and Swift released her seventh album, Lover, in August 2019. However, less than three months later, she exposed Braun and Borchetta once again after they allegedly tried to block her from performing her old hits at the 2019 American Music Awards, where she was honored as Artist of the Decade. She also claimed on social media that the executives “declined the use of my older music or performance footage” for a Netflix documentary that she had in the works.

Big Machine slammed Swift’s post as “calculated,” saying in a November 2019 statement that it does “not have the right to keep her from performing live anywhere.” The label, however, did not explicitly address claims that it had barred the pop star from performing her old material.

“While Big Machine is not directly blocking her performance, they are putting a roadblock in her way as far as performing these particular songs,” music industry lawyer Erin M. Jacobson told Us Weekly.

The controversy made headlines again in November 2020 after Braun sold Swift’s masters to a private equity company, Shamrock Holdings, in yet another move that she claimed had been done behind her back.
