Kunis is a self-proclaimed gamer, who enjoyed playing World of Warcraft and Call of Duty in the past. The That ’70s Show alum revealed in a 2008 interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that she was an active member of several World of Warcraft guilds — including one that she had to quit after a fan recognized her voice.

“I’m really good, I’m a really kick-ass mage,” she explained at the time. “Well, you’re your own person and you can get into a guild. You gotta be in a guild, because you gotta do raids that require 30 or 40 people. But now with the expansion pack, they’re gonna have raids that require only, like, 10 people. So that’ll really make things a lot easier. Oh my God, it’s such a good game. I love it.”

Kunis added that she could play World of Warcraft for an entire day without noticing the hours passing. Eventually, she decided to give it up after she realized it was monopolizing too much of her time. The Black Swan actress switched to Call of Duty and continued playing her other favorites including Civilization, Mario Party and Settlers of Catan.

However, the Bad Moms actress shared in 2018 that she had put her gaming days behind her after having two kids with her husband, Ashton Kutcher. “I had kids, so not anymore,” she told Wired about the evolution of her video game habits.

Munn, for her part, began her career as the cohost of G4’s TV series Attack of the Show — which covered technology and video game releases — from 2006 to 2010.

The Newsroom alum told CNET in 2016 that she first became obsessed with video games after she played a summer Olympics PC game on her family computer when she was 8 years old. In 2011, Munn explained to FHM that her love for gaming has even interfered with her everyday life.

“I get so addicted to video games,” she said at the time. “I get really focused in on it and I cannot live the rest of my life. So if I get into any kind of first-person shooter game, I’m done and you won’t see me. I’ll skip meetings and stuff to sit in and work on my video games.”

Friends mastered the genre when it aired “The One With the Halloween Party” in 2001. The episode had the sitcom’s trademark jokes with the added fun of the group in costumes. Lisa Kudrow revealed during a Reddit AMA in 2014 that the story holds a special place in her heart.

“The Halloween party that Sean Penn appeared in,” she said at the time when asked about her favorite Friends episode. “For a lot of reasons. Number one was it was the first show we shot after 9/11. And that whole week, while driving in L.A., people would pull up, and give me a very sad look, and a quiet ‘Thank you’ for making them laugh.”

However, Friends director Kevin Bright told Metro in November 2018 that Penn was one of the sitcom’s more difficult celebrity guest stars.

“I think the least successful one was Sean Penn on the show,” he said at the time. “Just the style of the production wasn’t what he was used to, doing a show like that, so there was a little deer in the headlight effect.”

Boy Meets World‘s 1998 episode “And Then There Was Shawn” is another Halloween TV classic. Although the episode originally aired in February, it gained a cult following after airing in October for years after its premiere. The episode was an homage to the teen slasher film genre, which were wildly popular in the late ’90s due to films such as Scream (1996). Jennifer Love Hewitt also made a cameo appearance in the episode after skyrocketing to stardom in I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997).

The episode’s director, Jeff McCracken, told Yahoo TV in October 2016 that she landed on the show because of her relationship with Will Friedle.

“That came about because Will was dating Jennifer at the time,” McCracken, 68, said. “So we told him, ‘Will, we’d love to have Jennifer on the show.’ It all worked out, Jennifer was a doll and she loved doing it. They broke up soon thereafter, but it was perfect timing for us. I hope the show wasn’t the thing that did it!”

Fonda made a huge commitment toward action for climate change by planning to protest on the steps of the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C. every Friday through January 2020. “It’ll be called ‘Fire Drill Friday.’ And we’re going to engage in civil disobedience and we’re going to get arrested every Friday,” she explained to The Washington Post in October 2019.

Her dedication to the cause caused her to miss out on accepting the BAFTA’s annual Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film on October 25. In a pre-recorded video shown at the awards show in Los Angeles, Fonda explained her absence.

“I’m sorry that I’m not there, but as you may have heard I’ve been getting arrested,” she said. “I decided that I needed to do more, so I moved to D.C. for four months and I’m trying to heighten the sense of urgency there needs to be. Anyway, that’s why I’m not with you tonight, but it’s for a good cause.”

The video ended with footage of Fonda getting arrested with fellow demonstrators. “Thank you BAFTA,” Fonda yelled as cops led her away.”BAFTA, thank you for the Stanley Kubrick award for excellence in film. I’m sorry I’m not there, I’m very honored.”

Her unconventional speech received overwhelming applause and a standing ovation at the awards show. Fonda also recruited some famous faces to join her, including her Grace and Frankie costar Sam Waterson, Ted Danson, Catherine Kenner and Rosanna Arquette.

Fonda isn’t the first star to get handcuffed with a famous pal for a cause. Schumer and Emily Ratajkowski joined forces to protest against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh outside of the Senate Office Building in Washington D.C. in 2018. They were among more than 300 people arrested at the protest.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge first met in 2001 while studying history at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. Kate admitted that she couldn’t keep her cool when she was first introduced to the prince.

“Well, I actually think I went bright red when I met you [William] and sort of scuttled off, feeling very shy about meeting you,” Kate recalled in an interview with Tom Bradby on ITV News in 2010.

As for William, he revealed that he was immediately attracted to Kate’s ability to make him laugh.

“She’s got a really naughty sense of humor, which kind of helps me because I’ve got a really dry sense of humor, so it was good fun, we had a really good laugh and then things happened,” William told Bradby at the time.

The college sweethearts dated for years but briefly split in 2007 while William was stationed outside of London with the Household Cavalry. During that time, the couple faced intense scrutiny in the public eye, which led the couple to go their separate ways. However, the pair reconciled their romance one year later.

William explained to ITV News that he and Kate were “both very young” and “finding ourselves” when they split. “It was very much trying to find our own way and we were growing up so it was just a bit of space and it worked out for the better,” he said at the time.

Kate added that their split helped her to grow as a person and to value her independence outside of a relationship.

“At the time I wasn’t very happy about it, but it actually made me a stronger person,” she shared. “You find out things about yourself that maybe you hadn’t realized. I think you can get quite consumed by a relationship when you are younger, and I really valued that time for me as well although I didn’t think it at the time.”

The couple announced their engagement in November 2010 beforethey tied the knot at Westminster Abbey in London in April 2011. Kate gave birth to their first child, Prince George, in 2013, followed by their daughter, Princess Charlotte, in 2015 and their youngest son, Prince Louis, in 2018.

The modern Romeo and Juliet tale follows two teenagers from completely different cliques who bond over their love of music. Troy Bolton (Zac Efron) the captain of the East Side High School basketball team and the most popular boy in school, meets shy and smart transfer student Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Hudgens) at a holiday karaoke party. When they return to school, Troy and Gabriella decide to audition for the high school musical — but Drama Club president Sharpay Evans (Ashley Tisdale) and her twin brother, Ryan Evans (Lucas Gabreel), aren’t happy about the competition.

As Troy and Gabriella try to avoid Sharpay and Ryan’s wrath, they struggle with their own personal issues. Troy’s interest in the musical baffles the Wildcat basketball team, including his best friend, Chad Danforth (Corbin Bleu). Troy tries to decide if basketball or the musical is the right path for him, realizing, “My head’s in the game / But my heart’s in the song.” Gabriella, meanwhile, joins the scholastic decathlon team and works on overcoming her shyness in order to transform into a leading lady.

The wildly popularr film spawned multiple sequels including High School Musical 2 (2007), High School Musical 3: Senior Year (2008), which was released in theaters, and Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure (2011). High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, a television series based on the original film franchise, was released in November 2019 on Disney’s streaming platform, Disney+.

In April 2019, Monique Coleman, who portrayed Gabriella’s friend Taylor McKessie, exclusively told Us Weekly what it was like filming with a young cast.

“We just actually are really close friends and I cared. You know what I mean? … I feel like so many people get into a position and then tear each other down. And it was really important for us to, like, stay very, like, tight-knit and to protect each other. Because, at the end of the day, these were adolescents,” she told Us.

One year later, the cast reunited to perform for a good cause amid the global coronavirus pandemic. Hudgens, Coleman and more of the former Wildcats joined forces on ABC’s Disney Family Singalong to give healthcare heroes a special shout-out during the worldwide COVID-19 crisis.

“Everyone we reached out to was quick — and you’ll see it in their spirit and the way they come together from their homes. They recognize this is an opportunity to strengthen spirits for those joining us for the broadcast,” the film’s director Kenny Ortega told Deadline of the April 2020 reunion. “It’s a really nice, fun coming together of a lot of young people that are banding together under the lyrics of this song for the show.”

The Big Little Lies star and Urban first crossed paths at the G’Day USA Gala — an event honoring Australians in Los Angeles — in 2005. Kidman was immediately smitten with the country singer, but Urban took a little longer to come around.

“I remember thinking, I had such a crush on him, and he wasn’t interested in me,” Kidman told Ellen DeGeneres in 2017. “It’s true! He didn’t call me for four months.”

However, the “God Whispered Your Name” singer didn’t immediately contact the actress because he wasn’t in the right mindset for a relationship at the time.

“Somebody had given me her number and I had it in my pocket for a while. I kept looking at it thinking, ‘If I call this number, she’s going to answer. I don’t know what [to] say,'” Urban recalled on the Australian talk show Interview in 2018. “I wasn’t in a very healthy place in my life.”

He added, “I’d never have thought she’d see anything in a guy like me. But, at some point, I plucked up the courage to call those numbers and she answered, and we started talking and we talked and talked and talked and talked and it was effortless.”

The couple later tied the knot in June 2006 in a romantic ceremony in Manly, Australia. Kidman and Urban’s wedded bliss was short-lived as the “Wasted Time” crooner entered rehab in October 2006 after the Bombshell star staged an intervention.

“I caused the implosion of my fresh marriage,” Urban told Rolling Stone in 2016. “It survived, but it’s a miracle it did. I was spiritually awoken with her. I use the expression ‘I was born into her,’ and that’s how I feel. And for the first time in my life, I could shake off the shackles of addiction.”

Kidman gave birth to their first child, daughter Sunday Rose, in July 2008. Urban and the Moulin Rouge star welcomed their second daughter, Faith Margaret, via surrogate in December 2011. The Oscar winner is also the mother of daughter Isabella and son Conner, whom she adopted with her ex-husband Tom Cruise.

The Lion star told Harper’s Bazaar in 2018 that her marriage has been successful because the couple always make time for each other.

“Obviously I work hard, but when I’m off, I’m off,” she explained. “Keith and I are very good at immediately clicking off because we have a really good life in Nashville that’s very simple, quiet and nourishing because we’ve made it like that.”

The couple met in 2004 but had no expectations of starting a romance with each other. Harris told Out magazine in 2012 that at the time he wasn’t looking to settle down.

“I remember being in my mid-20s, lying in bed thinking that the rest of my life would be solo,” the How I Met Your Mother alum explained.

At the time, Burtka was in a challenging long-distance relationship. “I was in another relationship when I met Neil and was doing the long-distance, New York-to-L.A. thing. It was sort of on the rocks. Long-distance is so hard,” he recalled.

Harris and Burtka began spending time with each other platonically but the professional chef found himself attracted to the actor.

“We began hanging out with other people, and we had a lunch or so, but nothing romantic. I thought he was adorable, though, with these amazing blue eyes that are just hypnotizing to me,” Burtka said at the time.

Later that year, the Michigan native split from his ex and went on a first date with Harris to see the 2004 film Taking Lives. Three years later, Burtka proposed to Harris. The Gone Girl star later popped the question to Burtka in 2008.

The duo took the next big step in their relationship when they welcomed fraternal twins, Harper and Gideon, via surrogate in October 2010. The new parents went public with their engagement in 2011, five years after Burtka first proposed. The Doogie Howser, M.D. alum and Burtka tied the knot in 2014 in Perugia, Italy.

Harris told Us Weekly in April 2019 that the secret to their successful relationship is communication.

“I think when you keep things pent up and you exist in, like, a façade, it seems to lead to more problems, so we talk about stuff when we have problems with each other,” he said at the time.

The twosome also love being parents to their children, whom they are raising in New York City. Burtka told Us in October 2019 that they couldn’t imagine having a family on the West Coast.

“We live up in Harlem so they see a ton of stuff, and they’re exposed to stuff at a young age,” the Annie and the Gypsy star said at the time. “I think they grow from that. I think when you’re living in a house in the Valley or Beverly Hills you don’t get to see that much, whereas here you, get to see and experience so much. I think we’re really fortunate to be in New York.”

Ellen became one of the most groundbreaking shows in LGBTQ history when the title character — played by Ellen DeGeneres — came out as a lesbian in the episode titled “The Puppy Episode.”

DeGeneres explained on her talk show in 2017 that the title actually held a significant meaning.

“The writers told the executives that they wanted me to come out because my character needed to be in a relationship,” she said. “Someone at the studio said, ‘Well, get her a puppy; she’s not coming out,’” she said.

The episode was a ratings success, bringing in 42 million viewers, but faced backlash for the pivotal coming out scene. Ellen received a viewer discretion warning before each episode and was canceled one year later.

Laura Dern, who guest starred as Susan on the episode, revealed in an interview with Vulture in 2019 that she required security protection and lost work opportunities after appearing on the show. However, she cherished filming the scene with DeGeneres, who came out as a lesbian herself just one week before the episode aired.

“What was amazing, which I will never forget, that when she [DeGeneres] looked in my eyes, she said it was the first time she said ‘I’m gay’ out loud,” Dern said at the time. “We didn’t rehearse it, so when she said it to me, and was looking in my eyes and holding my hands and I felt her shaking … the gift — it makes me want to cry — the gift of that, the intimacy of what that means, was such insight for me. And I’ll carry it for the rest of my life.”

Ellen paved the way for future LGBTQ characters, including Cyrus Goodman (Joshua Rush) who became the first main character to come out as gay on Disney Channel on Andi Mack in 2019.

Peyton Elizabeth Lee, who portrayed the title character, told Variety in 2019 that it was monumental to include an LGBTQ character on a children’s show.

“I think people don’t understand the importance of seeing yourself represented on TV,” Lee said. “Even I don’t think I understood the importance of representation until we started making our show, and I started seeing how kids were responding to it.”

The series premiered in 2002 on Fox with a star-studded judging panel consisting of Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson. American Idol‘s freshman season introduced Kelly Clarkson, who would become the show’s first breakout star.

The three judges reunited in September 2019 on The Kelly Clarkson Show where they admitted they weren’t certain the show’s premise could work — until Clarkson walked through the door.

“I actually, genuinely do not believe we would be sitting here today if you hadn’t entered the show that year,” Cowell said. “The whole premise of the show was, we had to find a star who was gonna sell records. We found some great people that whole year, but when you delivered that moment on that first live show, and you sang that winning song at the end …”

Jackson added, “We looked at each other at the end of the finale and said, ‘Wow, this thing is really gonna work.’ I think that was the moment that we knew.”

American Idol soon became a pop culture phenomenon that produced winners such as Ruben Studdard, Carrie Underwood and Jordin Sparks. The competition series also turned contestants who didn’t win — including Chris Daughtry, Adam Lambert and Jennifer Hudson — into household names.

However, the road to stardom wasn’t always an easy one for the contestants. Underwood told Parade in 2015 that American Idol was “the most horrifying thing” and that she wasn’t certain her music career could succeed.

“I always kept in my head, ‘If nothing else ever comes of this, I got to do the coolest thing ever and I won ‘American Idol,'” Underwood said. “I was like, ‘Okay, I will just have fun with this and save up as much money as I can and finish school and get a real job.’ Because I am always a practical thinker and would never allow myself to think it would turn out okay all the time.”

Underwood ended up winning season 4 and later received the most Grammy Awards of any American Idol winner.

The original series ended in 2016 but returned two years later on ABC. The revamped show included a brand new set of judges with Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie helming the show. American Idol set another milestone when it crowned its first at-home winner, Just Sam, on season 18 in May 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

She didn’t win an Academy Award until 1992, but she initially started attending as a guest of her parents, actors Bruce Dern and Diane Ladd. Laura opened up to Vanity Fair in 2020 about going to the Oscars with her mother in 1975. Ladd was nominated for Best Actress for her role in Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore.

“I remember it being scary and overwhelming,” Laura told the outlet at the time. “I also remember my mom feeling proud of herself and loving her work … and I remember thinking, whatever I do when I grow up, I want to really love my job and feel proud of it. I’ve never forgotten that.”

The actress would go to earn her own Academy Award nominations for Best Actress in Rambling Rose (1992), Best Supporting Actress in Wild (2015) and Best Supporting Actress for Marriage Story (2019).

Laura’s role as the tough divorce lawyer Nora Fanshaw in Marriage Story gave her a clean sweep of the 2020 awards season with wins at the Golden Globes, SAG Awards and BAFTAS. In February 2020, she won the first Oscar of her career for the role and dubbed it the “best birthday present ever.”

As Dern took the stage to accept the honor, she took time to share the love with her incredibly supportive family.

“I would like to say a special thank you to the gifts of the love stories in my life. My stepchildren, C.J. and Harris, my heart and inspiration, Ellery and Jaya,” she said in her touching speech. “You know, some say never meet your heroes, but I say, if you’re really blessed, you get them as your parents. I share this with my acting heroes, my legends, Diane Ladd and Bruce Dern. You’ve got game. I love you.”

The Big Little Lies star told Us Weekly in January 2020 that she believes the film — which also costars Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson — has received critical acclaim because it’s a universal story.

“I think it’s an incredibly relatable story, both because most of us have been through heartbreak and have been through even divorce,” Laura explained. “But also, I think it really speaks to something more global, which is about division in general and trying to find community, whether you’re coparents or it’s us, you know, in the world.”

The Little Women star told Variety in January 2020 that the film definitely resonated with her and admitted she “cried for half an hour” when she first read the script.

“We all know that pain of loving someone so much and they’ve hurt you so much,” Laura said. “Whether it was in real life or you’ve had a dream where you kill them or beat the crap out of them. The terror of loving so deep that you feel that hatred from heartbreak.”

The “Sorry Not Sorry” singer opened up about watching the 2020 documentary Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind on the “Wild Ride! with Steve-O” podcast in April of that year. The film explores the possibility of extraterrestrial civilizations and how they can make contact with humans. 

“The first encounter would be, like, seeing a UFO,” Lovato explained. “The second would be some kind of proof being left behind. The third encounter would be, like, you have some sort of interaction with the alien. The fourth is, like, you’re on board, you get abducted and then the fifth is human-initiated contact with aliens. I sound nuts right now.”

DeLonge, for his part, is a longtime believer in aliens and UFOs. The former Blink-182 frontman revealed in February 2015 that he’s read 200 books about extraterrestrials.

“I don’t spend my time looking at UFO reports or talking to little green men,” he told Paper magazine at the time. “I’m way past that. If anybody tells you there’s no life in the universe, you should be turned off. That’s just such a dumb thing to say.”

He added, “I don’t think we’re working underground with aliens. I don’t think it’s like that, like some dumb conspiracy theorists think. I think what’s gonna happen, mark my words, is that they’re going to find the microbial life that they’ve been talking about on Mars and then, it’s one planet over. We’re gonna send people up there, and we’re gonna find remnants of other types of life.”

DeLonge launched his company To the Stars Academy, which researches UFOs, in 2015. Two years later, the New York Times uncovered the Pentagon’s Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program — a secret effort funded by the U.S. government to investigate UFOs. The program ran from 2007 to 2012, but some investigators in the now-defunct division have continued their research with DeLonge’s company.

Kardashian told ABC News in February 2020 that she would be happy with a low-key family affair on Valentine’s Day but she never knows what her husband has up his sleeve.

“I was literally about to volunteer at my daughter’s school,” the reality TV star said at the time. “She loves it when I’m like, you know, the class mom. I was debating, I was like, do I do that or is he going to have something planned?”

Godwin joined season 6 of the ABC reality show in the summer of 2019 after striking out on Colton Underwood‘s season of The Bachelor. Barbour, for his part, previously competed for the affections of Hannah Brown on season 15 of The Bachelorette.

The couple’s relationship had a rocky start with Godwin first showing interest in Blake Horstmann, who even flew to her hometown to see her a week before Paradise began filming. Godwin later sparked a connection with Barbour but ended up kissing Horstmann multiple times in front of him.

Eventually, Godwin chose Barbour and the twosome got engaged at the end of the season. At first, the couple had a long-distance relationship between Godwin’s house in Los Angeles and Barbour’s home in San Diego. However, they found themselves unexpectedly living together amid the coronavirus quarantine.

“Luckily, we’re both easygoing so being trapped together in sweats all day with my BFF isn’t a bad day,” the Bachelor alum told Us Weekly in March 2020. Barbour added, “It makes us want to live together and puppy fever is through the roof.”

The actor was born in Berkeley, California, but his family moved to Massachusetts when he was 3 years old. He met his lifelong friend Matt Damon during his childhood years and the pair bonded over their mutual passion for acting. Affleck appeared in small television and movie roles before he was cast in the 1993 film Dazed and Confused. He later teamed up with director Kevin Smith and starred in the movies Mall Rats (1995) and Chasing Amy (1997).

However, the film Good Will Hunting — which he cowrote with Damon — skyrocketed him to fame in 1997. Affleck told Boston Magazine in 2013 that the pair fleshed out the story after Damon began writing the script for a playwriting class he was taking at Harvard University.

“We came up with this idea of the brilliant kid and his townie friends, where he was special and the government wanted to get their mitts on him,” Affleck explained at the time. “And it had a very Beverly Hills Cop, Midnight Run sensibility, where the kids from Boston were giving the NSA the slip all the time. We would improvise and drink like six or 12 beers or whatever and record it with a tape recorder. At the time we imagined the professor and the shrink would be Morgan Freeman and [Robert] De Niro, so we’d do our imitations of Freeman and De Niro. It was kind of hopelessly naive and probably really embarrassing in that respect.”

The duo’s big dreams landed them an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay in 1997. Affleck’s career took off and he later appeared in notable films such as Armageddon (1998), Argo (2012), Gone Girl (2014), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and The Way Back (2020).

Although Affleck’s career has flourished over the years, he has publicly struggled with his personal life. The Oscar winner previously checked into rehab in 2001, 2017 and 2018. Affleck explained on the Today show in 2019 that he’s not afraid to be open about his sobriety struggles.

“Some people are sort of uncomfortable, [but] it doesn’t really bother me to talk about alcoholism and being an alcoholic,” he said at the time. “It’s part of my life. It’s something that I deal with. It doesn’t have to sort of subsume my whole identity and be everything, but it is something that you know you have to work at.”

Affleck was previously married to Jennifer Garner from 2005 to 2018. The pair share three children, Violet, Seraphina and Samuel.

The real estate broker is also the first Bachelor in 12 years who hasn’t previously appeared on The Bachelorette. ABC announced in June 2020 that the North Carolina native would be the series lead for season 25 after previously being named as a contestant on Clare Crawley’s season of The Bachelorette.

“It’s an honor,” James said on Good Morning America at the time. “I’m just going to lean into myself and how my mom raised me, and hopefully when people invite me into their homes on Monday nights, they’re going to see that I’m not much different from them and they see that diverse love stories are beautiful.”

The former college wide receiver added that he has some key personality characteristics that he’s looking for in a woman — but he’s hoping his contestants will be physically diverse.

“Selfless, honest, caring, compassionate and those are qualities found in women all shape, sizes and races,” James explained. “It’s not a Black or white thing so I’m hoping that when that limo puts up there is a lot of diversity and I see every type of woman coming out of that limo.”

The Watch What Happens Live host and Cooper first met in the early ’90s when they were almost set up on a blind date. However, the pair’s dynamic never became romantic because Cohen broke the CNN news anchor’s “cardinal rule” of dating — mentioning his socialite mother, Gloria Vanderbilt.

“Andy and I were first set up on a blind date, which never happened because we had a phone call and after two minutes I said, ‘I’m not dating this guy,’” Cooper recalled on Watch What Happens Live in December 2016. “He broke my cardinal rule … he mentioned my mom within the first four sentences of meeting me.”

Although the duo never went on a date, they forged a friendship that developed into an equally strong working relationship. Cohen and Cooper have hit the road together every year since 2016 for their conversational stage tour, “AC2: An Intimate Evening with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen.” The Radio Andy host has also joined Cooper to cohost CNN’s New Year’s Eve Live since 2017.

Cohen and the Nothing Left Said author not only support each other professionally but have leaned on each other through the ups and downs of their personal lives. The Bravo exec shared a touching tribute in honor of Cooper’s mother, Gloria, when she died in June 2019.

Vanessa Hudgens came under fire after she made comments rejecting the idea that self-quarantine could remain in effect through the summer.

“Yeah, ’til July sounds like a bunch of bulls–t. I’m sorry,” the Spring Breakers star said during a live Q&A via Instagram on March 16. “It’s a virus, I get it. I respect it. But at the same time, like, even if everybody gets it … yeah, people are gonna die. Which is terrible but, like, inevitable?”

Hudgens later apologized for her remarks, noting that it’s been “a crazy time” for everyone.

“Yesterday, I did an Instagram Live and I realize today that some of my comments are being taken out of context,” she said via her Instagram Story on March 17. “It’s a crazy time, it’s a crazy, crazy time and I am at home and in lockdown and that’s what I hope you guys are doing too. Yeah I don’t take this situation lightly, by any means. I am home. … Stay inside.”

Evangeline Lilly sparked controversy when she referred to COVOID-19 as a type of “respiratory flu” and revealed that she has no plans to practice social distancing with her children, despite her Lost costar Daniel Dae Kim testing posting for the virus.

“#morningtea Just dropped my kids off at gymnastics camp,” the actress wrote via Instagram on March 16. “They all washed their hands before going in. They are playing and laughing. #businessasusual.”

While some Instagram users urged Lilly to stay home, the actress explained that she is prioritizing her and her family’s freedom.

These heartwarming stories usually include at least one of the following components: Santa Claus, a holiday party, a Christmas miracle or a lesson on the spirit of Christmas.

New holidays have also been created during Christmas episodes. Chrismukkah, a mix of Christmas and Hanukkah, became a staple on The O.C. after it was introduced in season 1 in 2003. “The Best Chrismukkuh Ever” kicked off the holiday with a bang and featured a classic Christmas mall montage, Summer’s (Rachel Bilson) epic Wonder Woman costume and a drunk off-the-rails Marissa (Mischa Barton).

The memorable holiday was revisited in the season 4 episode “The Chrismukk-huh?” and featured Ryan (Ben McKenzie) falling off a roof and learning how all of the characters’ lives would have been different if he never showed up in Newport.

Another classic holiday invention was Festivus from a 1997 episode of Seinfeld, “The Strike.” Festivus, which is celebrated on December 23, includes practices such as the Airing of Grievances and Feats of Strength, a Festivus dinner and an aluminum Festivus pole (in lieu of a tree). The holiday is described as “a Festivus for the rest of us” by the day’s inventor, Frank Costanza (Jerry Stiller).

Christmas episodes have also given birth to iconic storylines. Full House aired “Our Very First Christmas Show” in 1988, which shows the Tanner family en route to spend Christmas in Colorado. Unfortunately, a major snowstorm forces their plane to land and they end up spending Christmas at an airport. The episode marks the first on-screen kiss between Aunt Becky (Lori Loughlin) and Uncle Jesse (John Stamos).

The Office‘s “Christmas Party” episode in 2005  showcased the beginning of the iconic Pam (Jenna Fischer) and Jim (John Krasinski) relationship during the coworkers’ Secret Santa gift exchange. Jim gives Pam a teapot filled with “bonus gifts” including his high school yearbook photo and a packet of hot sauce. The episode began the trend of quirky Christmas episodes that became a staple in later seasons of The Office.

Adams was first introduced to Bachelor Nation when she competed for the affection of Colton Underwood on season 23 of The Bachelor in 2019. However, she joined the series in the wake of her divorce from her ex-husband, Joshua Bourelle.

“This past year and a half has been kind of hard for me and it’s actually because I was married, and I got divorced,” she said on the show. “I actually married my first boyfriend and I was with him for about six years or so.”

The former phlebotomist explained that she fought for her marriage but, ultimately, the relationship fell apart. “You can’t make someone want to be married,” she said at the time.

Adams didn’t find her fairytale ending with Underwood either. The California native was sent home during her fantasy suite date after the former football player revealed he had stronger feelings for winner Cassie Randolph.

Later that year, Adams went looking for love again on season six of Bachelor in Paradise, where she met former Bachelorette contestant John Paul Jones. The pair broke up before the finale, but reunited on the After the Final Rose finale special. The pair called it quits for the second time in October 2019.

The Concordia University alum explained on the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast in November 2019 that communication was a major issue in their relationship.

“I would never badmouth John. We both have our flaws. I think communication is a really big deal,” she said at the time. “I learned from a previous relationship that I’m very much so over communicative, but that’s all I can do. What he can do is listen to that and try to navigate that relationship with that information I’m giving him. If you’re choosing to have that stuff go in one ear and out the other, that’s on you.”

Us Weekly confirmed in August 2020 that Adams would be taking over the lead role on season 16 of The Bachelorette following Clare Crawley‘s exit. Adams told Entertainment Tonight in February 2020 that she would be open to finding love again on the ABC reality series.

“I have to say, anything that comes my way, I am ready for.
