The former NBA player started seeing the actress following his divorce from high school sweetheart Siohvaughn Funches in 2007. Wade and Funches, who didn’t finalize their divorce until 2010 after a lengthy custody battle, share two kids: Zaire and Zaya.

“My divorce was taking forever. She wound up having 13 different lawyers in the process. So every time you get a new lawyer, the case starts over,” Wade explained in his 2020 ESPN documentary, D. Wade: Life Unexpected. “I’m having a hard time having a relationship with my kids, seeing my kids. A lot of times she would not bring them out and I would have to get the police involved to find her. … It became ugly and nasty.”

The basketball player ultimately won full custody of his two oldest kids and started rising his nephew Dahveon Morris. “My emotions were all over the place because on one hand, you want to celebrate a victory, but on the other end, no one wins,” he said in the doc. “There’s no winner in a custody battle.”

Wade and Union, meanwhile, dated for several years before they took a break in 2013.

“When you’re debating whether to go backward or forward, you have to look at the original issue,” she told Glamour in 2014, noting their brief breakup was due to “distance and scheduling.” She explained, “I finished filming the show, then I flew to Vegas right away to start shooting Think Like a Man Too. I couldn’t take time off, and I missed some quality togetherness we desperately needed.”

While the pair were apart — and before he proposed in December 2013 — Wade got together with actress Aja Metoyer and later found out she was pregnant.

“I had a time, a part in our break, in our pain and our hurt, a blessing came out of it in my life, having a son that was born healthy,” he told reporters during a press conference in December 2013 amid rumors about a child named Xavier Zechariah Wade born in November of that year. “I’ve always tried to show my importance in my kids’ lives and it doesn’t change now. So, I, my lady and my family have continued to move forward, and I think that’s evident with the ring and the proposal that I gave her.”

Union and Wade went on to tie the knot in 2014. After she suffered several miscarriages, the couple welcomed daughter Kaavia in 2018 via surrogate.

In the show, the luxurious retreat is located in the fictional town of Cabrillo, California, but the real wellness center — called Soma — is in Byron Bay in the Australian state of New South Wales. Sitting on 22 acres of lush rainforest, the property has 10 bedrooms with their own ensuite bathrooms and a formal dining room that seats 18 people.

According to the Airbnb listing, the entire Soma property is rentable for around $5,000 a night, with space for up to 16 guests. Some of the home’s amenities include a fire pit, infinity pool, infrared sauna, magnesium ice bath, zen garden and a geodesic dome for yoga practice. Guests can also hire additional staff for massages, meditation courses and bodywork sessions.

Like the on-screen Tranquillum House, Soma offers occasional wellness retreats that incorporate meditation and yoga, but without the mysterious Russian guru Masha played by Nicole Kidman. Cofounded by entrepreneurs Gary Gorrow and Peter Ostick, Soma’s website describes the center as “a sanctuary tucked in the hills away from civilization” designed “with the intention of creating a space to recharge your batteries.”

That is more or less the same goal espoused by Masha on Nine Perfect Strangers, but as viewers know, Masha’s methods are significantly more sinister. In the most recent episodes, her guests — played by Melissa McCarthy, Luke Evans, Regina Hall and Bobby Cannavale, among others — discovered that the willowy founder has been microdosing them with psilocybin, a.k.a. magic mushrooms.

In the series, based on Liane Moriarty‘s novel of the same name, Masha also spies on her visitors from a command center hidden inside the house and maintains strict control over her employees. During filming, Kidman stayed in character as Masha between takes and continued to speak in her Russian accent even at home.

“Strangely enough, the first time I met everyone I walked in as Masha, and I never related to anybody in any other way,” she told Forbes in August. “I only related to them as Masha and stayed in the character. They would talk to me or use my name, Nicole, and I would completely ignore it.”

The reality star, 37, didn’t respond to the news directly, but she shared several optimistic quotes on Sunday, August 8. “Every situation in life is temporary. So, when life is good, make sure you enjoy and receive it fully,” one quote shared via Instagram Stories read. “And when life is not so good, remember that it will not last forever, and better days are on the way.”

Another quote attributed to Yung Pueblo read, “Happiness is not fulfilling every pleasure or getting every outcome you desire. Happiness is being able to enjoy life with a peaceful mind that is not constantly craving for more. It is the Inner peace that comes with embracing change.”

Thompson’s deal to move from the Boston Celtics to the Sacramento Kings was announced on Saturday, August 7. The center, 30, spent nearly a decade with the Cleveland Cavaliers until 2020 when he was traded to the Boston Celtics. He’ll leave New England after just one season to go to California, which is where his children live.

Thompson is father to Prince, 4, whom he shares with his ex-girlfriend, model Jordy Craig. He also shares daughter True, 3, with Kardashian.

The Good American founder expressed concern about the distance between her and Thompson in late 2020 ahead of his move to Boston.

“I’m not opposed to Boston, but once you have kids, it’s different,” Kardashian explained in an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, which aired in June. Everything’s shut down. I think if it was a different year, maybe I’d be more open to uprooting her. But what am I going to do? Take her there to be in a condo there and stay inside some walls?”

Ultimately, Kardashian decided not to move to Boston. When Thompson returns to California, he will play for the Sacramento Kings at the Golden 1 Arena, which is about a 6-hour drive from Calabasas. However, if he flies, it can be under 90 minutes away.

Kardashian has opened up previously about coparenting with her ex, which can be difficult.

“It’s hard. It’s not easy for me,” the E! personality said in October 2019. “It would be easier for me to keep my daughter away and be like, ‘No, because you hurt me.’ But he never hurt True. Him and I have our own relationship, and then Tristan and True have theirs. I will never come in-between that, I don’t believe in that.”

“It’s a true testament to my undeniable charisma when I say that my wife met me at 280 pounds with this beard and this hair,” Harbour, 46, joked to the New York Times on Sunday, July 11. “We went on a date at The Wolseley [restaurant] in London, and she really fell for me at my worst, physically and hair-wise.”

The movie filmed in 2019 just as Allen, 36, and Harbour met. Though a flashback sequence in the film, released Friday, June 9, shows Harbour in tip-top shape as an undercover KGB spy in the 1990s, that’s not how he looks in most of the movie.

The Red Guardian has been in prison for years and has let himself go. When he reunites with his surrogate daughter, Natasha (Scarlett Johansson), in the late 2010s, Harbour describes him as, “this dude who’s big and violent with tattoos and gold teeth and also needs you to like his jokes.”

After Black Widow finished filming, Harbour slimmed down to his normal size, and he admitted that the change surprised the “Smile” singer, whom he married in September 2020.

“So as the thing went on, I started losing the weight and working out,” Harbour explained. “And she honestly has some mixed feelings about it.”

It seems getting used to her slimmed down hubby is a bit jarring, but Harbour doesn’t hold those feelings against Allen. In fact, he thinks that “is a good place to be in a relationship.”

The Hellboy star, who is stepdad to Allen’s daughters, Ethel, 9, and Marnie, 8, whom she shares with ex-husband Sam Cooper, explained that it’s the opposite of many longterm relationships. “It’s really good to start the relationship from that part, as opposed to being the young, handsome buck and watching yourself degenerate over the years,” he added.

While he’s a happy husband, Harbour added that he’s not made for lockdown life. The SAG award-winner filmed No Sudden Move last fall, his first movie made during the pandemic. He said it was a much-needed reprieve.

“Stranger Things had come back for season 4 in September, and they didn’t need me until January. And I freaked out,” he revealed. “I love my wife and kids, but I also need to go to work, because I’ll lose my mind here, trying to home-school them.”

The actor explained during a June appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that he and Allen got married during the pandemic after Ethel called him “just some guy in our lives.”

Harbour explained: “We were riding around beginning of pandemic — she has two kids, these beautiful daughters, 8 and 9 — and we were riding bikes out in the country trying to figure out what we were gonna do for the next year or however long it was going to take. And the little one was riding along and she was going like, ‘David, Dad, David, Dad.’ Because the ‘d’ got her confused. And the older one got very upset with that, which I understand, and was like, ‘He’s not our dad! He’s not our dad!’”

That made the decision to get married in Las Vegas easy for the actor, who proposed to his love shortly before the pandemic. “I was like, ‘I need to marry this woman,’” he quipped. “Because the emotional fallout…”

Us Weekly confirmed that the two obtained a Las Vegas marriage license and had a small wedding in September 2020.
