While discussing HBO’s “Hard Knocks,” which features the Cowboys in its new season, Taft took issue with Bayless over his comment about Dallas head coach Mike McCarthy’s physical appearance.

“I don’t know if Mike McCarthy’s motivational speech [in ;Hard Knocks’] was the most inspiring, but criticizing his appearance — I don’t know if that’s a fair shot for Mike McCarthy, I’m going to leave it at that,” Taft said.

When she attempted to move on with the show, Bayless said, “Thanks, Jenny, appreciate that,” to which she reiterated, “I don’t think it is a fair shot.”

Bayless hit back, “Well, I don’t think that’s a fair shot.”

Taft, who played lacrosse at Boston University, didn’t back down from her argument.

“Is everyone who’s ever coached as fit as you, Skip? I don’t think that’s a fair shot whatsoever,” she said. “I’ve actually had plenty of coaches that have not had the perfect, ideal physique, including my college coach, so I don’t think that’s a fair shot.”

Bayless explained his opinions about McCarthy’s appearance were fueled by “personal preference” and therefore, “I wouldn’t want [McCarthy] to be my head coach.”

Taft then reminded Bayless, “I’m allowed to have an opinion, Skip. I am allowed to say whatever I want to say on this show, as you do too.”

While she previewed sports analyst Chris Brossard’s upcoming appearance on the show, Taft fiercely added, “And maybe I have more to say.”

Twitter users who caught Taft’s dialogue were quick to praise the host on social media and slam Bayless for his “ignorant comments.”

“Damn Jenny Taft pissed. Skip pretty much said she doesn’t have a voice on the show!,” one viewer tweeted.

“Jenny Taft just checked Skip Bayless like he should have been!,” another added.

Free agent point guard Dennis Schroder is seemingly having a tough time with the fallout from his decision to decline the $84 million extension the Lakers offered him in March.

“I think he’s in a state of shock because of what he’s done,” a source told the Boston Herald’s Mark Murphy about how Schroder feels months after his choice.

The 27-year-old was dealt to Los Angeles from Oklahoma City last offseason. He excelled in his starting role with the Lakers and worked well alongside veterans LeBron James and Anthony Davis. However, Schroder thought he could work out a bigger deal.

When the free agency window opened on Aug. 2, teams didn’t gravitate toward Schroder as expected — and the Lakers wasted no time trading for point guard Russell Westbrook from the Wizards, along with a slew of veteran stars, closing the door on a possible Schroder return.

Although the market for starting point guards is slim, the 6-foot-3 point Schroder may find a temporary home in Boston, following Kemba Walker’s departure to the Knicks.

“The Celtics have pitched Schroder the idea of backing up Marcus Smart next season,” but, “he needs time,” following the “shock” of his Lakers fallout, according to the Boston Herald.

On Tuesday, NBA reporter Jordan Schultz reported that Boston offered Schroder a one-year deal at the taxpayer $5.9 million mid-level exception. However, Schroder reportedly wants the full MLE, which is $9.5M, and a second-year player option. The Celtics don’t want to be pressed to exceed the cap, Schultz reported.

With the Lakers, Schroder averaged 15.4 points, 5.8 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game while shooting 43.7 percent from the field. He’s become a solid two-way player with playmaking abilities and could add depth to the Celtics alongside Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

The caveat with Boston acquiring Schroder is his desire to be a starting point guard. If he’s brought on behind Smart, it’s possible he could run into chemistry and relationship issues in Boston — something the team has dealt with at the point guard position since Kyrie Irving’s Celtics stint.

After two impressive years of coming off the bench in Oklahoma City, Schroder dismissed the idea of a bench role when he joined the Lakers.

“I did this off the bench stuff already the last two years in OKC. I think with LeBron and AD I can be helpful as a starter in the PG position,” he said in Dec. 2020.

Rohan, who reps a No. 93 Dodgers jersey on the field, got the job done after a number of security personnel couldn’t catch the intruder. Rohan has worked for the team since 2019, but Sunday’s fan take-down is believed to be her first-ever viral field moment.

Rohan has been reposting messages and support from others to her Instagram Story. She even joked that Sunday was a “rough day at work.”

“Yeah I am not going to stop talking about this lol,” she captioned a news story about her play on Instagram.

The 24-year-old is a senior at California State University, pursuing a degree in deaf studies. She is a proud member of Alpha Phi sorority.

Rohan is a former gymnast and softball player, according to past posts on her public Instagram account — where she documents her relationship with boyfriend Justin Fallon, a ticket operations supervisor with the Dodgers.

When she’s not saving the day at Dodger Stadium, Rohan is like any other college student. She enjoys snowboarding, partying in Vegas, snapping the occasional selfie, and hitting the beach with friends.

After beating France to win gold at the Tokyo Olympics, Draymond Green, Kevin Durant and the rest of Team USA men’s basketball let loose on the bus ride to the airport — courtesy of LeBron James’ Lobos Tequila. Green and Lakers star Anthony Davis are both investors in the liquor company.

Green shared a number of Instagram videos that showed Durant shouting out James while lounging in the back of the bus with what appeared to be the gold medal-winning game ball in his lap.

“Hey Bron, hey Bron, Bron Bron,” a laughing Durant yelled in one video. “We got Lobos in the cup!” he added. Meanwhile, it sounded like Devin Booker said, “818,” which is his girlfriend Kendall Jenner’s new Tequila brand.

“Just a bunch of gold medalists man… and Lobos in the cup,” said Green, who tagged James and his business partner Maverick Carter — who’s also part of Main Street Advisors’ (MSA) investment group that co-led the investment in Lobos 1707 with Mezorio Spirits.

Team USA’s Jayson Tatum can be heard saying Green and Durant were “drunk” in the clip.

Lobos had fun with Team USA’s post-gold tequila celebration and responded to the clip on Twitter, writing, “The drink of Champs.” James agreed in retweet and added, “ABSOLUTELY!!! Congrats Men!!!”

The Bills quarterback has agreed to a six-year contract extension that runs through the 2028 season, the team confirmed Friday. The deal is worth $258 million, including $150 million guaranteed, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter — the most all-time by nearly $9M, surpassing Patrick Mahomes.

Allen, who turned 25 in May, is the first quarterback in the 2018 QB draft class to sign a long-term second contract. He’s coming off of a career season in which he led the Bills to a 13-3 record to reach the AFC Championship Game. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs blew past the Bills in that matchup, 38-24.

Buffalo never hesitated on its decision to extend Allen, who has improved all three years in the league — and in 2020 set new franchise records in nearly every passing category.

Allen broke the Bills’ single-season records for touchdown passes (37), completions (396), completion percentage (69.2), 300-yard games (8), passing yards (4,544) and total touchdowns (46) — a list that contributed to him finishing runner-up for league MVP (Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers placed first). Allen was named Second Team All-Pro and was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2020.

Allen, who was selected by the Bills with the seventh overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft, said last season that he wanted to play his entire career in Buffalo. His extension is a pretty solid incentive to stay.

The Bills open their three-game preseason schedule at Detroit on Aug. 13.

The Post’s Ryan Dunleavy reported from camp on Friday that Giants coach Joe Judge gave a lengthy response to Fulton’s retirement — which Judge said was family and health related.

Fulton joins veteran offensive lineman Joe Looney and linebacker Todd Davis as the Giants players whom recently left football.

Judge said all three player are “good dudes” and welcome back if their football circumstances change.

Tight end Kelvin Benjamin also said he was walking away from football after being released by the Giants last week.

Fulton, 29, signed a one-year deal worth $1.2 million, plus a $137,500 signing bonus with the Giants one week after the Texans released him in March.

Judge noted that Looney and Davis’ decisions to retire  were more private and personal.

“I’d say in both these cases, not to speak for the players, but both of them had family situations that they had to attend to, and that was a large part of the decision,” he said. 

The trio of retirements leaves the Giants lacking veteran depth on the line.

The Giants entered free agency with a rebuild in mind and went on a $200 million spending spree to re-sign DT Leonard Williams and added WR Kenny Golladay, CB Adoree Jackson, RB Devontae Booker and TE Kyle Rudolph.

The veteran free-agent quarterback will call college football games for ESPN, Front Office Sports reported Thursday, marking the culmination of a bidding war that included Fox.

Griffin’s contract with ESPN reportedly includes an out clause that would allow him to resume his professional football career should an opportunity present itself, according to NFL Network.

Exact terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The former Heisman Trophy winner and second-overall pick by Washington in 2012 was waived by the Ravens in January following three seasons with the organization, as his once-promising career was derailed by injuries.

The 31-year-old Baylor product seemingly confirmed the ESPN news when he thanked former Ravens teammate Willie Snead on Twitter for congratulating him on the gig.

But Griffin doesn’t seem content calling his quits on his football career.

On Tuesday, he went viral after showing him practicing his throws with a wall.

“If you won’t sign me, at least sign this wall,” Griffin tweeted. “I mean look at the quick release and ball placement my GAWD.”

In 56 career games, Griffin has thrown 43 touchdowns and rushed for 10 more.

The former Blazers forward and the Lakers have agreed to a one-year deal, his agent Bay Frazier confirmed to ESPN Tuesday.

Anthony also took to Instagram and Twitter to share a video of his name and logo, “Melo,” with the Lakers’ purple and yellow logo replacing the No. 7.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 37-year-old reportedly considered signing with the Knicks, with whom he spent seven seasons from 2010-2017.

Anthony, who is still chasing his first NBA title, joins the Lakers after finishing his 18th season, in which he averaged 13.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game off the bench, and shot a career-high 41 percent from three.

Anthony is just 39 points from tying Moses Malone for ninth on the NBA’s all-time scoring list, and will likely do so a Laker.

Jamaican sprinter Shericka Jackson missed out on qualifying for the semifinals after she slowed down near the finish line.

The 27-year-old was beaten out by Italy’s Dalia Kaddari by four-thousandths of a second in the sprint, putting her in fourth place.

Jackson, who came into the Olympics as the third-fastest woman in the world over distance this year, finished the heat with a time of 23.26 seconds.

The Jamaicans now won’t be able to clean sweep the women’s 200m, as they did in the 100m, when Jackson won bronze on Saturday.

“Sometimes painful things can teach us lesson that we didn’t think we needed to know,” Jackson posted on Instagram following the incident, along with the hashtag, “MovingInFaith.”

Aussie track and field Olympian Tamsyn Manou critiqued Jackson’s blunder and said she got “too cocky.”

“You cannot do that at the Olympic Games,” Manou said, according to Yahoo Sports.

The Raptors selected Florida State star Scottie Barnes with the No. 4 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft on Thursday night — knocking Gonzaga product Jalen Suggs out of the top four. The Magic ended up taking Suggs with the fifth pick.

Barnes could fit in well with Toronto’s OG Anunoby and Pascal Siakam. Though, he could miss out on the veteran leadership of Kyle Lowry, who may be on the move.

Barnes, at 6-foot-9 with a 7-2 wingspan, is known for his elite defensive skills on the court, often drawing comparisons to the Warriors’ Draymond Green.

“A majority of players do not want [Trevor] Bauer back under any circumstances,” Mike DiGiovanna of the L.A. Times reported Sunday, describing Bauer as a “pariah in his own clubhouse.”

Bauer has been on an extended paid administrative leave from the Dodgers since July 2, after a 27-year-old woman accused him of committing several nonconsensual sex acts on two occasions during the spring in Pasadena, Calif.

Bauer has denied the allegations through his agent while his teammates have not yet commented publicly.

The 30-year-old All-Star’s leave is set to expire Tuesday, though it’s likely MLB will announce a third extension as the league’s investigation into the allegations is ongoing. The Pasadena Police Department is also conducting its own investigation.

Bauer appeared at a court hearing Friday in Los Angeles to contest a temporary restraining order issued by the accuser. But the hearing was pushed back to Aug. 2, 3, and 19 after Shawn Holley, Bauer’s attorney, said she had insufficient time to prepare for medical records and exhibits, including witness lists she received recently.

“We came here ready, but ready on what had been presented to us,” Holley said in court, according to The Athletic.

Judge Dianna Gould-Saltman ruled that the restraining order against Bauer will continue throughout the hearing process. The reigning NL Cy Young winner will be required to take the stand during the three-day hearing.

The accuser’s allegations of sexual assault were made public in late June — shortly after she requested a restraining order against Bauer. The court order, reviewed by The Post, was initially enforced on June 28.

Bauer is in the first year of a three-year, $102 million contract with the Dodgers.

Houston finally is willing to take calls from interested teams on disgruntled quarterback Deshaun Watson, who requested a trade from the Texans in January, NFL reporter Tom Pelissero said Monday.

The two sides met Sunday when Watson, who currently is facing 22 civil lawsuits alleging sexual misconduct, reported to training camp for the sole purpose of avoiding a daily $50,000 fine.

“Watson was respectful, but his demeanor reiterated he doesn’t want to be in Houston,” Pelissero reported.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the Texans are looking for “three first-round picks and more” in exchange for the 25-year-old, three-time Pro Bowler, who would also have to waive his no-trade clause.

Watson requested a trade less than a year after Houston handed him a four-year, $156 million extension.

He is reportedly frustrated with the team’s direction.

It’s unclear which teams have reached out with interest in Watson, the 12th-overall pick by Houston in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Any teams interested in Watson would have to monitor his legal situation.

Since the spring, Watson has been accused of sexual misconduct by over twenty women, mostly massage therapists.

He has denied the allegations.

The civil cases won’t go to trial this year, according to Pelissero.

The NFL is investigating the allegations, although the league has not placed Watson on the exempt list as a potential suspension looms.

Jets rookie quarterback Zach Wilson — who has worked closely with Knapp, a newly acquired pass-game specialist, since being drafted — said, “Life is a precious thing,” in reaction to the news on Instagram.

Wilson also re-shared a statement released by the Jets on social media. The BYU product worked primarily with Knapp during OTA practices and the Jets’ minicamp in spring after he was selected second overall by the Jets in the 2021 NFL Draft. 

Knapp, 58, is in critical condition, fighting for his life at a California hospital, 9News in Denver reported Tuesday. His injuries, which were unspecified, are described as serious.

Mekhi Becton, an offensive tackle for the Jets, tweeted, “Praying for coach and his family as well!!!”

Jets linebacker Bryce Huff commented a prayer hands emoji under coach Robert Saleh’s statement, shared by the team’s official Instagram. Cornerback Zane Lewis wrote, “prayers up,” with two of the same emojis.

“Greg is such an amazing individual it is hard to imagine the challenge facing him and his family,” Saleh said in wake of the tragic accident. “Greg’s fun nature, kind disposition, and wealth of knowledge has allowed him to make genuine connections with all of our coaches, players and staff since he has been here,” he continued, before asking for prayers.

In a separate statement, the Jets also asked for prayers and thanked those who’ve reached out to provide support.

“Greg is an amazing father and husband whose passing for life can be felt in all his interactions with people,” the statement read. “He is our rock and biggest supporter, pushing us to all strive to better ourselves each day with constant love and inspiration. While many know him for his achievements as a coach, his impact as a father and husband are far greater. We are so fortunate to have him in our lives.”

The five-time Pro Bowler was booked for “burglary domestic violence” in Redmond, Wash., where he was taken down by a police K9 unit after attempting to break into a family member’s home, according to a Redmond Police Department spokesperson, per TMZ. Sherman is also being investigated for a possible DUI and hit-and-run, according to multiple reports, after a car registered to Sherman was involved in a single-car crash involving a construction-zone barrier.

Redmond public information officer James Perry told NBC Sports Bay Area that no one was injured and that he did not believe Sherman made it into the house.

Sherman’s wife, Ashley Moss, confirmed that information to the Seattle Times.

“At this time we’re going to make no statements, except he didn’t harm anybody,” Moss told the paper. “My kids were not harmed in the incident. He’s a good person and this is not his character. We’re doing all right, just trying to get him out. I want people to know no one was injured.”

Upon arrival to the scene, after receiving a 911 call from family inside the home, police told the website Sherman became uncooperative and combative during questioning.

Police brought in a K9 to help capture Sherman, who allegedly fought with officers on the scene.

“He was cleared medically at a hospital before being booked into jail,” Perry said. “So I believe there was some precautionary treatment after being contacted by the dog. I have to believe any injuries were very minor.”

Sherman was later booked and denied bail. The 33-year-old has not yet been formally charged, according to ESPN, because he hasn’t appeared before a judge. That won’t happen until Thursday afternoon, and Sherman will remain in jail until then.

Washington State Patrol is also involved in the felony case, according to the Redmond P.D. spokesperson, who told TMZ that Sherman allegedly crashed his vehicle before he took off on foot for home.

Following news of his arrest, ESPN’s Adam Schefter said on “SportsCenter” that the 49ers were “taken aback and surprised” over the arrest.

The NFLPA, for which Sherman is one of the vice presidents on the executive committee, released a statement shortly after his arrest.

“We were made aware of an arrest last night of one of our player leaders for an alleged domestic violence incident and have activated our domestic violence crisis protocol for the protection and support of everyone involved,” the statement read. “We will continue to monitor events closely as more facts are made available to us.”

The free-agent cornerback spent the last three seasons with the 49ers, and missed the last 11 games last season due to a calf strain.  

The legal news could put a big damper on Sherman’s hopes of being signed by a club for the coming season.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on “SportsCenter” that police received a 911 call from a residence where “an adult male family member who did not live there was attempting to force his way into the home.” Schefter said the charge translates to entering premises “with intent to commit a crime.” Sherman has to remain in jail until he can appear before a judge.

The free agent cornerback — who recently spoke of a possible return to Seattle, where he currently lives — spent the last three seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, playing under their former defensive coordinator and new Jets head coach Robert Saleh.

The 49ers were “taken aback” by Sherman’s arrested, Schefter reported.

The NFLPA released a statement about Sherman, who is one of the vice presidents of the NFLPA executive committee.

“We were made aware of an arrest last night of one of our player leaders for an alleged domestic violence incident and have activated our domestic violence crisis protocol for the protection and support of everyone involved,” the statement read. “We will continue to monitor events closely as more facts are made available to us.”

Sherman spent his first seven NFL seasons with the Seahawks after they selected him in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL Draft and won Super Bowl XLVIII with Seattle.

Pitaro, who was promoted from president and co-chair to chairman in Oct. 2020, addressed the situation in a memo to ESPN staffers on Friday just over a week after a leaked video exposed white ESPN host Rachel Nichols making “diversity” comments about Taylor, a black rising star at the network, getting one of Nichols’ assignments.

The leaked memo obtained by The Post addressed staff concerns about ESPN’s commitment to “diversity, inclusion and belonging,” and laid out a workplace goal “to improve the experiences of Black employees at ESPN” through the network’s BECE program (Black Employee and Consumer Experience initiative).

“We respect and acknowledge there are a variety of feelings about what happened and the actions we took,” Pitaro wrote, noting that “the details of what took place last year are confidential, nuanced and complicated personnel matters.”

In the leaked audio clip, published by the New York Times, Nichols can be heard discussing her ESPN contract with Adam Mendelsohn — the longtime adviser of Lakers star LeBron James and James’ agent, Rich Paul — and claimed ESPN gave NBA Finals hosting duties to Taylor, despite the gig being a part of her contract.

Nichols then implied that Taylor was chosen for the job because she is black and the network was “feeling pressure” about its “crappy longtime record on diversity.”

Pitaro addressed the reasoning behind Taylor’s NBA Finals move.

“I do want to be clear on one thing: Maria Taylor was selected as NBA Countdown host last year because she earned it,” the ESPN chairman declared. “Please know our commitment is that assignments and opportunities at ESPN are based on merit and any concerns, remarks, or inferences that suggest otherwise have been and will continue to be addressed.”

Pitaro went on to list the company’s efforts in its BECE program, which the network was touting after enacting it year ago. The memo stated that at ESPN, “63% of our executive leadership team are women and/or people of color.”

Later on in the memo, Pitaro said “everyone owns inclusion,” before discussing how staff can help create a better culture at ESPN.

“It’s the way you treat your colleagues, how you champion your team, how you welcome new ideas and people, and how you make others feel. Each of us is responsible for creating a culture and climate that thrives,” he wrote.

At the conclusion of the memo, Pitaro told staff the company plans to address diversity and inclusion at an upcoming ESPN town hall later this month, where the network will “continue to have focused conversations with the Black and African American community at ESPN in the coming weeks.

“As always, we value an open and honest dialogue,” Pitaro wrote.

It was originally believe the Irish MMA star lost the fight when he stepped back to dodge a punch and dislocated his tibia. However, a viral video points to a moment 20 seconds into the fight in which Poirier points down at McGregor’s leg after a kick, seemingly signaling the injury.

After the point by Poirier, McGregor went on to fight four more minutes. He lasted until a doctor’s stoppage after the first round when he stepped back awkwardly and was bound to the floor before being carried off by a stretcher.

Social media sleuths have become enamored by the video because Poirier, in a post-fight press conference, noted that he believed McGregor broke his leg early on in the bout.

“I felt something, for sure. He fractured it on one of the kicks at the beginning of the fight, and then he broke it,” Poirier said.

“You never want to get a win that way but what happened was a result of checking a kick. I’m more than sure of it. He got what he had coming to him. Karma is a mirror.”

McGregor, who underwent surgery in his left leg Sunday, has been in good spirits since the loss, and disagreed with Poirier’s theory.

“I was boxing the bleedin’ head off him, kicking the bleedin’ leg off him. Usual s—t, dive to close the distance,” the Irishman said.

It’s likely the pair will get a fourth fight opportunity after the unexpected outcome of their fiery trilogy.

Both sides have declared they’re ready for another bout.

The wife of Dustin Poirier continues to troll Conor McGregor after her husband defeated the Irish MMA star at UFC 264. Ahead of the trilogy fight, McGregor alleged Jolie had sent him direct messages on Instagram.

Poirier’s wife — who went viral for flipping off McGregor in the octagon after the Irishman broke his left tibia — reposted an image on her Instagram that show her middle finger moment.

As McGregor sat injured in the octagon after the fight, he said to Poirier, “Your wife is in my DMs. Hey baby, hit me back up and I’ll chat to you later on. We’ll be having an afterparty at the Wynn nightclub baby.”

McGregor then tweeted and deleted a handful of tweets with some pointed at Jolie.

“Hey you guys! I don’t want to associate any negativity with my foundation so I’d like to take this chance to apologize for dustin’s wife trying to message me privately on Instagram,” McGregor wrote, according to screen grabs from MMA Junkie.

Last Thursday, two days before the fight in Las Vegas, McGregor shared a tweeted containing vulgar sexual comments about Poirier’s wife — after Poirier tweeted at McGregor, “Your trash talk is as thin as your hair these days! See ya soon champ champ.”

McGregor also repeatedly called Dustin, “Jolie’s wife” at a pre-fight news conference.

Poirier, who remained calm throughout the personal comments made about his wife, later explained why McGregor’s act didn’t faze him.

“That made him less powerful because he’s talking silly stuff about my wife. She’s ‘my husband’ or something. Like, what the f–k are you even talking about?,'” Poirier told ESPN, adding, “He shouldn’t even be talking about marriages with the s–t he’s out there doing, so …”

It’s possible the rivals could get a fourth fight after Poirier’s first-round win coming after McGregor’s injury.

McGregor underwent surgery after the gruesome injury and said he felt “tremendous,” in a video from his hospital bed.

But there are plenty more viral moments that belong to the multi-talented teen.

Zaila is already a basketball phenom who holds three Guinness World Records for dribbling multiple basketballs at a time.

The Louisiana teen holds the record for most bounce juggles (255) in one minute with four basketballs; most basketballs dribbled simultaneously with six; and most basketball bounces in 30 seconds with four basketballs.

Zaila, according to the AP, hopes to one day play in the WNBA – or even coach in the NBA.

“Basketball, I’m not just playing it. I’m really trying to go somewhere with it. Basketball is what I do,” Zaila said, per Nola.com. “Spelling is really a side thing I do. It’s like a little hors d’ouevre. But basketball’s like the main dish.”

She picked up a knack for spelling a few years ago after her father, Jawara Spacetime, watched the event on TV and knew his daughter was cut out for it.

Zaila’s also a highly skilled “mathemagician,” according to her Instagram bio, which means she can do wildly complicated math in her head.

After her spelling bee win, Zaila has garnered attention from celebrities and pro athletes, including Lakers star LeBron James, who tweeted, “CONGRATULATIONS CHAMP!!!!!!”

The 22-year-old German track and field star has been dubbed “the World’s Sexiest Athlete” by a number of supporters and websites, but there’s much more to Schmidt than her voluminous blonde hair and stunning blue eyes.

Schmidt is officially Tokyo bound for this summer’s postponed 2020 Olympics, she confirmed in a post on Instagram on Saturday.

Schmidt will compete on the German team in the women’s 4×400 relay and the Games’ first 4×400 mixed relay, according to the Daily Star.

“Still feels unreal! I’m so grateful and at the same time thrilled to experience something I have been dreaming of since I started all of this!,” Schmidt captioned a photo that featured her posing in front of the Olympic Rings symbol.

“Bring it on – I so can’t wait for this,” she added.

Schmidt has been running competitively for years. She finished second in the 2017 European Athletics Under-20 Championship in the 4×400 relay, where she took home silver. In 2019, Schmidt won bronze at the U-23 Europeans. She’s also reportedly competed in hurdles and as a jumper.

In May, Schmidt expressed how grateful she was to be running outdoors again after suffering a “torn ligament and some muscular problems,” she explained in an Instagram post.

Although sports is Schmidt’s focus, the athlete has built a massive social media following and reputation for sharing health and wellness content.

The Olympian has nearly two million Instagram followers and works with German food brands including Frosta and Food Spring, an organic sports nutrition company. She enjoys eating healthy and cooking when her busy schedule allows.

“My family always says that food is my favorite topic,” Schmidt said in a past Instagram post discussing her eating habits. She’s also a fan of sushi and surfing.

Schmidt, who’s a travel fanatic, has also worked with hospitality, beauty and fashion brands, such as SANTE Naturkosmetik.

Before she rose to social media fame, Schmidt, born in Worms, Germany in 1998, adopted a love for running at a young age.

During a past family vacation, Schmidt caught the attention of Thomas Kremer, a professional sprinting coach, who suggested her parents sign her up for track, according to The Spun. Schmidt began competing in races at age 7.

In order to take her skills to the next level, she knew she had to relocate to train with the best, in environments that would challenge her.

Schmidt, The Spun reported, moved to Potsdam after high school to train with Brandenburg Athletics Association. After a year with the organization, Schmidt had her sights set on making the German national team, and made the move to Berlin to train with the SCC Sports Club.

It paid off.
