On Wednesday, the Green Bay Packers quarterback took aim at the 2021 Super Bowl MVP in a new video leading up to The Match, the fourth iteration of the televised match-play event with Bryson DeChambeau and Phil Mickelson slated for July 6.

“Here’s Tommy on the green. First hole and he actually rolls it in,” Rodgers said of Brady’s performance in last year’s Match III event, when he was partnered with Mickelson against Peyton Manning and Tiger Woods.

“Really, really proud of you Tom. Yup, air high five. COVID,” the Packers quarterback, 37, quipped, adding, “See a little slow-mo replay here, they’re still pretty lame.”

Rodgers — who is having quite the offseason between alleged Packers discord and a Hawaiian getaway with fiancée Shailene Woodley — continued to roast Brady, 41. Notably, he brought up the moment the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback ripped his pants on the green.

“But then the shot of the match here, with the microphone coming undone here is, you know, Tom. Not shown here the illegal drops that he had earlier in the round and the wayward shanks,” Rodgers said, also calling out Brady talking trash.

“And then here you see him picking the ball out of the hole. Pants, a little rip there, I’m sure Under Armour gets blamed for that,” he continued.

Brady and Mickelson lost to Woods and Manning in last year’s event. Brady is once again paired with Mickelson while Rodgers is with DeChambeau.

Last month, the foursome took part in a virtual press call, with Brady trolling Rodgers about January’s NFC Championship game between their teams, in which Packers coach Matt LaFleur opted for a fourth-quarter field goal instead of giving his quarterback the ball and a chance to score.

“I do think you do have a partner that would probably like to go for it a little more often than he has in the past so Bryson, I’m glad you’re encouraging him to kind of go for it when it’s on the line,” Brady said.

When DeChambeau responded, “I’ll never push anyone to do anything, so he can choose to do whatever he wants to do,” Rodgers replied, “Well, I usually don’t get the option, in my experience.”

In response to Thursday’s reveal that Brady and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes would grace the cover of “Madden NFL 22” together, Edelman celebrated the seven-time Super Bowl champ by reminding him of his roots.

“You’ve come a long way since ‘QB No. 12’ @TomBrady,” Edelman tweeted alongside a screenshot of an older Madden game, which failed to include Brady’s name and photo.

The 199th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft, Brady took the quarterback reins in New England from Drew Bledsoe during the 2001 season, when he won his first Super Bowl as a Patriot. He went on to win six championships with Bill Belichick during his 20-season stint in New England.

In March 2020, however, Brady signed a two-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 43-year-old quarterback won his seventh Super Bowl title in February when he defeated Mahomes, 25, and the Chiefs.

As for Edelman, the 35-year-old wide receiver officially hung up his cleats in April after 12 seasons. Brady, a longtime friend of Edelman, praised his former target in a heartfelt Instagram post.

“On the biggest stage and in the biggest moments, you always came through,” Brady wrote. “I was a witness to so much of the journey and am so proud of you and how you grew from 7th round underdog to an older 7th round underdog. 

“You have so many teammates that admired your work ethic and will to win, and I am at the top of the list because when I was down and feeling sorry for myself at times, you were right there to pick me up. You were as tough as could be and I love you for all that you did to make our teams as great as they could possibly be,” he continued.

Unlike former Patriot Rob Gronkowski, who joined Brady in Tampa Bay, Edelman made it clear last month that he won’t be sporting Buccaneers threads in the future.

“I’m a one-team guy,” Edelman quipped on “The Michael Irvin Podcast.”

“Madden NFL 22” is expected to be released in August.

During a video call promoting next month’s golf match with Tom Brady, Bryson DeChambeau and Phil Mickelson, Rodgers wore a T-shirt that read, “I’m offended,” which had social media sleuths connecting dots to recent comments made by Packers president Mark Murphy.

“Aaron Rodgers shirt really says ‘I’m offended,'” one Twitter user remarked. “this man lowkey loves being so dramatic. Some of you think he’s your GOAT too.”

Another user posed, “Aaron Rodgers wearing an ‘I’m offended shirt’ is definitely because of Mark Murphy isn’t it.”

Over the weekend, Murphy appeared to describe Rodgers as a “complicated fella,” according to reports amid festering drama between the Packers and the reigning MVP.

Ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft, reports surfaced that Rodgers wanted out of Green Bay after 16 seasons. The quarterback skipped voluntary OTAs in May and enjoyed some R&R in Hawaii with fiancée Shailene Woodley instead.

Rodgers, who also appeared as a guest host of “Jeopardy!” in April, addressed his “quiet” offseason on Tuesday’s call.

“It’s been one of those quiet offseasons you dream about, where you can kind of just go through your process on your own, quietly, and that’s all you can ask for as an older player in the league, and someone who’s been around for a long time and just enjoys that time to yourself, to just relax, to not be bothered, to not have any obligations or anything going on,” Rodgers said.

“Enjoying my time and spending it where I want to spend it,” he later added.

While the rest of Rodgers’ situation seems filled with uncertainty — Will he be traded? How long will he hold out from the Packers? — The Match IV is set for Big Sky, Montana, on July 6.

The 30-year-old linebacker, who recently agreed to a two-year deal worth up to $9 million with the Arizona Cardinals – where the Giants dealt him in October – said his time in New York nearly led him to hang up his cleats.

“A lot of people don’t know, I was going through a lot down there in New York. … I felt like last year in New York, I got out there, I competed, I did everything to prove that I was the guy and they didn’t give me the opportunity so that took my love away from the game a little bit,” Golden said Wednesday via Zoom, according to 98.7 FM Arizona Sports. “Not gonna lie, that rubbed me the wrong way a little bit, because that’s what the game’s always been about.

“If you work hard do what you’re supposed to do on the field you’re gonna be out there. I felt a little disrespected by New York, so when the Cardinals came and traded for me it was a blessing. Because it’s like, who else is gonna come save me and get me out of a situation like this? The Cardinals.”

Golden, a former second-round pick, originally signed a one-year, $3.75 million deal with the Giants in March 2019 and led the team in sacks with 10 that season. The following August after little free-agency interest around the league, he signed a one-year tender to return to the Giants. Golden was traded to the Cardinals for a sixth-round pick during the 2020 season after playing infrequently for the Giants.

Last month, Golden called out the Giants over his lack of playing time before he was dealt to Arizona, which originally drafted him in 2015. Golden played less than half of the team’s defensive snaps.

“Now just imagine if NY would of just let me play earlier in the season! SMH!” he tweeted in response to Pro Football Focus’s edge rushers to top over 50+ pressures.

Much is changing in Arizona this offseason, including the addition of former Texans defensive end JJ Watt.
