Ready for a good scare? The Scream franchise is gearing up to release a fifth film in the near future.

After late director Wes Craven’s first-ever Scream movie arrived in 1996, it became a sleeper hit that drew in $173 million at the worldwide box office. Its success led to the creation of three sequels in 1997, 2000 and 2011.

Eight years after Scream 4, Spyglass Media Group secured the rights to develop another Scream film. It was later announced in March 2020 that Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, both of whom directed the 2019 horror movie Ready or Not, would direct the fifth flick. Kevin Williamson, who created and wrote the original film, will also return as an executive producer.

Neve Campbell, who plays Sidney Prescott, was hesitant about returning to the franchise since Craven wouldn’t be overseeing the project due to his 2015 death.

“I definitely had a period where I was thinking it would just be too odd to do a movie without Wes, and I wasn’t certain that I would want to do that,” she told The Hollywood Reporter in May 2020. “But, I think enough time has passed. I got this really, really respectful letter from the directors [Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett] of the new one. They came to me with Scream 5, and these directors are incredibly talented.”

The Party of Five alum eventually signed on to join the fifth film. “They wrote a letter honoring Wes in such a beautiful way, and they expressed that the reason they make horror movies is because of Wes and the Scream films,” she continued. “They also expressed how blown away they are at the idea of actually getting an opportunity to make one of them and how much they want to honor and respect Wes’ vision. It was just beautiful, and I was really grateful. I had really thought that the only way I’d step into a new project with new directors is if they really wanted to honor him. So, we’ll see.”

The fifth installment will also reunite onscreen love interests Courteney Cox and David Arquette, who married in real life in 1999 but split in 2010. Now, they coparent daughter Coco.

“We coparent, so we’re in touch quite a bit. It’s great. But we always love working together,” the Never Been Kissed actor told Entertainment Tonight in August 2020. “She’s an incredible actress, so it’ll be fun to bring these characters back to life and see where they’re at. … Costarring’s the easy part.”

A lasting love. Celebrity couples like Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are the definition of “power couple.”

Douglas and Zeta-Jones were first introduced in 1998, and the Falling Down actor knew immediately that the duo would have a future together. He would propose to his love in 1999 and they said “I do” nearly one year later. They are the parents of a son, Dylan, and daughter, Carys.

Douglas and Zeta-Jones have also proven that age is just a number, as the longtime couple — who share the same birthday, September 25 — have a 25-year age gap. “Catherine, my wife, and I have the same birthday,” he explained on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in October 2019. “Twenty-five years apart, the same day, but who’s counting?”

Zeta-Jones’ parents are the same age as her spouse but they “never even question that there was a 25-year age difference,” she said, according to E! News.

Though their relationship has spanned two decades so far, the actors still encounter bumps along the way — just like any other couple. During a Today show appearance in November 2017, the Mask of Zorro actress spoke about overcoming obstacles in a marriage.

“I think it’s just unfathomable to me that you would be with one person for 18 years, and things are not rosy every day. They’re just not,” she said. “My mother and father were married for 52 years and they were a wonderful blueprint for me, because I’ve seen the good, the bad, and the ugly with them, and they’re still going strong.”

Zeta-Jones then noted that she has “a very open relationship” with Douglas, and added that it’s important for couples to “be open and honest and share things that, probably, people at the drugstore wouldn’t share over the counter.”

Douglas, for his part, told Us Weekly exclusively in September 2019 that it’s crucial to “talk things out” with your significant other. “It’s taken me a long time, but resentment is an easy thing to keep under the surface,” he said. “I think most of the times it’s really good to get things out sooner than later.”

Girls for life! Issa Rae and Yvonne Orji’s Insecure characters are thick as thieves, but the actresses are just as tight offscreen.

Insecure introduced the world to Issa (Rae) and Molly (Orji) when the series debuted on HBO in 2016. Fans have seen the duo in each other’s corners when facing their respective woes.

Though the duo’s real-life friendship appears to be filled with many highs, their characters’ onscreen bond has suffered major lows. When the fourth season of Insecure aired in 2020, longtime viewers witnessed a fallout between Issa and Molly before they found their way back together by the finale’s end.

“They are friends, they are real-life friends, but there exists a specific dynamic in their friendship that both of them have gotten accustomed to,” Rae explained to Variety in May 2020. “They’re college friends who have taken on different paths.”

The Photograph actress continued, “Molly witnessed Issa being in this long relationship and this relationship that she may have aspired to, and I think, on Molly’s side, Issa has witnessed her take this journey to become this incredible lawyer. Like, her career has always been in check and Issa admires her social life.”

Orji, for her part, admitted to Vulture that same month that she didn’t like seeing the dynamic duo at odds. She also said that “it’s never easy to fight with Issa” onscreen.

“This season was very different because we didn’t see each other that much because Issa and Molly have their own lives,” she continued. “The fact that when we did get to see each other, it was under turmoil, I did not like this at all. By the time we got to episode five, it was an explosion, but at least it wasn’t the first time we fought — and it was building to this, so it was expected.”

In August 2020, the pair celebrated a special milestone in their careers when they both earned Emmy nominations. Rae nabbed her second Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series nod, while Orji scored her first-ever Emmys nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. The show itself was also recognized for the first time with an Outstanding Comedy Series nomination.

Orji later raved about Insecure’s Emmys achievements via Instagram, where she praised Rae for being a “fearless leader” and the “OUTSTANDING LEADING ACTRESS that she is.”

If the suit fits! Batman is arguably one of the most iconic superheroes to ever be created, but not all have been lucky enough to strap up as the caped crusader.

George Clooney, Michael Keaton and Val Kilmer are part of a growing list of actors who have stepped into the dual role of billionaire Bruce Wayne/Batman. Lewis Wilson was the first to don the suit for 1943’s Batman, followed by Robert Lowery in The New Adventures of Batman & Robin in 1949. However, of the stars who have been so fortunate, Christian Bale’s performance is among those that’s resonated with fans years after his run as the iconic character.

Bale starred as the caped crusader in Christopher Nolan’s “Dark Knight” franchise in the late 2000s. The Fighter actor spoke to The Guardian in 2016 about what he believed that he could have done better in the role. “I didn’t quite manage what I hoped I would through the trilogy. [Director] Chris [Nolan] did, but my own sense of self is like, ‘I didn’t quite nail it,’” he explained.

“Batman, he’s this very, very dark, messed-up character,” he continued. “I found when I put on the suit I went, ‘I just feel like a bloody idiot if I don’t use this as a means to [show] his true, monstrous self that he allows to come out in that moment.’”

Ben Affleck succeeded Bale in 2017’s Justice League and 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Neither film was well-received by critics, but the DC Extended Universe installments each earned more than $500 million at the worldwide box office. (Justice League raked in $657.9 million, while Batman v Superman drummed up $873.6 million, according to IMDb’s Box Office Mojo.)

The Academy Award winner confirmed his departure from the DCEU in January 2019, but his retirement was short-lived. He returned for Justice League reshoots when original director Zack Snyder was granted a chance to debut his intended vision on HBO Max. Zack Snyder’s Justice League debuted in March 2021.

Affleck is also set to appear in The Flash, set for a November 2022 release. The movie will explore the multiverse, and Keaton is also set to reprise his role as the Dark Knight in the action movie. Before the Good Will Hunting actor’s next ride in the Batmobile, however, viewers will be introduced to yet another version of the tortured billionaire.

Thereafter, Warner Bros. announced in May 2019 that Robert Pattinson would be the next Batman. In the upcoming film directed by Matt Reeves, Zoë Kravitz was also tapped to star as Selina Kyle — a.k.a. Catwoman. (Halle Berry, Anne Hathaway and Michelle Pfeiffer have previously played Selina Kyle/Catwoman.)

“Batman’s not a hero,” Pattinson said in a New York Times profile from October 2019. “He’s a complicated character. I don’t think I could ever play a real hero — there’s always got to be something a little bit wrong. I think it’s because one of my eyes is smaller than the other one.”

Pattinson’s turn as the Dark Knight was slated to hit theaters in June 2021, but production was delayed amid the coronavirus pandemic. Filming wrapped in March 2021, and The Batman is now set to hit theaters in March 2022.

Let’s take a minute, just sit right there and we’ll tell you about what’s up with The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air cast!

Fresh Prince, created by Andy Borowitz and Susan Borowitz, aired for six seasons on NBC from 1990 to 1996. The popular sitcom followed Will (Will Smith), a troubled Philadelphia-born teen who was sent to live with his aunt, uncle and cousins in their Beverly Hills mansion.

Smith starred on the series alongside James Avery (Uncle Phil), Janet Hubert (Aunt Vivian), Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton Banks), Karyn Parsons (Hilary Banks), Tatyana Ali (Ashley Banks), Joseph Marcell (Geoffrey) and many more.

Years after the series concluded, Ribeiro admitted to Us Weekly exclusively that he had a tough time landing roles after spending “so many years trying to convince people” that he was not his fictional Fresh Prince persona.

“You get a role that you get to fully dive into and make it yours, and create dances, and create ideas, and work with the writers, and directors and producers in molding this character,” he explained to Us in 2017. “Having people feel like, ‘Oh, my God. You were so good, I think that’s you.’ Which I always say, ‘Well, isn’t that what acting is?’ I did something so well that you’re punishing me for doing it. They won’t let you do anything else because you’re supposed to be that person.”

In August 2020, it was confirmed that Smith would be involved in a Fresh Prince reboot. The series would be reimagined as a drama inspired by a viral YouTube trailer created by filmmaker Morgan Cooper in March 2019.

When Smith interviewed Cooper for his own YouTube channel in April 2019, the Oscar nominee raved about the viral video. “What’s exciting to me is the new media of it all, that you put something on YouTube,” he explained at the time. “You just made a trailer, created something. I’m excited and inspired about that new way that human beings are interacting and ideas are getting treated.”

It was announced in September 2020 that an unscripted Fresh Prince full-cast reunion special was heading to HBO Max in honor of the show’s 30th anniversary. When the program aired two months later, Smith sat down for an emotional chat with Hubert to address their rocky past.

“We never really publicly talk about Janet and what happened,” the Gemini Man star said in November 2020. “For me, it felt like I couldn’t celebrate 30 years of Fresh Prince without finding a way to celebrate Janet. So she agreed to sit down and have a conversation with me. And Janet and I saw one another for the first time in 27 years yesterday.”

Hubert left the series in 1993 after three seasons. “Home life was not good at all. I was no longer laughing, smiling, joking because there were things going on that nobody knew about. [The] cast had no idea what was going on,” she explained during the reunion.

Smith, for his part, admitted that he could have been more “sensitive” to his former costar’s struggles. “Now that I’ve had three kids, I’ve learned some things I did not know at the time,” he said, noting that he would have behaved “very differently” now.

Adam Sandler is an industry icon for a reason. The comedic actor’s decades-long career has seen him charm audiences in everything from Happy Gilmore to The Wedding Singer and gained a whole new generation of fans thanks to the animated Hotel Transylvania franchise.

Sandler first gained major recognition when he became a cast member on Saturday Night Live in 1991, a role he nabbed after initially joining the sketch series as a writer the year before. During his four-year run on the show, he created memorable characters, like Opera Man and Sleepyhead, and earned three Primetime Emmy nominations.

Many of Sandler’s beloved flicks debuted in the late ‘90s, including the aforementioned Wedding Singer and Happy Gilmore. But the following decade saw him star in gems such as Punch-Drunk Love and 50 First Dates.

Though Sandler is primarily known for his comedic work, he has also proven his range in dramatic roles. Filmmaker Noah Baumbach’s The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected), for example, sees the actor star opposite Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson in a flick that boasts a 93 percent grade from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

Despite his status in Hollywood, not all of his films have won over film reviewers. He told the Independent in 2013 that he is not concerned with opposing opinions. “I didn’t get into movies to please the critics,” he previously said. “I got into it to make people laugh and have fun with my friends.”

However, the comedian later delivered a critically acclaimed performance in the 2019 crime thriller Uncut Gems. Sandler starred as Howard Ratner — an anxiety-ridden jewelry dealer in New York City — in the Safdie brothers-directed movie. The manic character was a change of pace for Sandler, who is known for his low-energy roles, but the actor tackled the challenge with ease.

The coronavirus outbreak has already had major implications on the well-being of humans, but as the U.S. and other countries around the world advise people to self-quarantine and institute travel bans, it’s also having a major impact on Hollywood.

Several upcoming movies, including Mission: Impossible 7 and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Red Notice, have paused production and sent casts and crews home. Films such as James Bond’s No Time to Die, Sonic the Hedgehog and Mulan have either postponed or canceled their China runs altogether. According to a February report from Business Insider, the outbreak could result in more than $1 billion of lost revenue for the film industry.

“There are so many moving parts and implications, not just for movie theaters but for public spaces in general,” Comscore senior media analyst Paul Dergarabedian told Business Insider on February 28. “The uncertainty is the one thing that is certain. At the end of the year, box-office numbers, particularly regarding China, are going to have an asterisk.”

The rapid spread of the virus has also resulted in the cancellation of music events and shut down production on several TV shows. Green Day and BTS are among the musical acts who have been forced to pushback tour dates in Asia. Talk shows initially filmed episodes without TV audiences, but have since opted to shut down for weeks. The Amazing Race pumped the brakes on its shoot, while filming of Clare Crawley’s season of The Bachelorette had also been paused.

As global safety regulations have lessened, the industry has begun the process of returning to semi-normalcy with caution. The Batman returned to set in London in September after closing up shop in March, but production shut down for the second time after star Robert Pattinson reportedly contracted coronavirus. Production started back up later that month.

Casts from Grey’s Anatomy, The Conners, Mom, Riverdale and Supernatural have also made their way back to set. Meanwhile, talk shows such as The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Kelly Clarkson Show have utilized virtual audiences to make their return a bit smoother.

COVID-19 is an outbreak that stems from the coronavirus family, but the version that’s currently making rounds is unlike anything that’s previously been encountered. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported that the illness spreads primarily from person-to-person. Symptoms can include fever, cough and shortness of breath.

The illness originated in Wuhan, Hubei province, China, in December 2019 and has rapidly made its way across Asia. It has since spread across the world, with Italy, South Korea and Iran among the hardest hit. The World Health Organization declared coronavirus a pandemic on March 11, with director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus saying the situation will worsen.

“We expect to see the number of cases, the number of deaths, and the number of affected countries climb even higher,” he said.

As of September 30, more than 34 million people have been infected worldwide and the death toll has risen to over 1 million. In the U.S., more than seven million people have tested positive for the virus, which has killed at least 206,000.

On the rise! Beanie Feldstein became a household name after being nominated for her first Golden Globe in January 2020. Since then, her fame has continued to grow.

The California native was nominated in December 2019 for Best Actress – Motion Picture Comedy or Musical for her role as Molly in Olivia Wilde’s critically acclaimed directorial debut, Booksmart. The actress previously racked up acting credits in Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, Lady Bird and The Female Brain, to name a few.

Feldstein scored her first Globes nod the same year her longtime best friend Ben Platt and former costars and close pals Booksmart’s Kaitlyn Dever and Lady Bird’s Saoirse Ronan were also nominated.

“What a ridiculously surreal, special morning. Thank you to the HFPA for this beautiful nomination amongst the most extraordinary women,” Feldstein wrote of her nomination via Instagram at the time. “To get to be there with my partner on this journey @kaitlyndever, my life partner @bensplatt and my lady bird is too much for my heart.”

Feldstein, who is the younger sister of Academy Award-nominated actor Jonah Hill, later landed the role of Monica Lewinsky on the upcoming season 3 of Impeachment: American Crime Story.

“She is a triumph,” Feldstein told The Daily Beast in September 2019 of the Lewinsky, who will produce the FX season. “I am so, so honored to be portraying her. And to be doing it with Ryan Murphy is out of my wildest dreams. He is sort of the king of television, and his work is so profound.”

The What We Do in the Shadows alum is also shooting Richard Linklater’s film adaptation of the musical Merrily We Roll Along, which will require her and her costars — including Platt and Blake Jenner — to shoot the project over the course of 10 years

A bromance worth celebrating! Matt Damon and Ben Affleck have proved over the years that nobody does friendship quite like them.

The childhood pals grew up together in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where they became fast friends when Damon was 10 and Affleck was 8. Since then, the pair have gone on to become major movie stars. They’ve worked together on several projects, including School Ties, The Battle of Shaker Heights and Field of Dreams.

When writing the Oscar-winning screenplay for 1997’s Good Will Hunting, the longtime pals were roommates. “We rented this house on the beach in Venice and 800 people came and stayed with us and got drunk,” Affleck previously said, according to Forbes.

“Then we ran out of money and had to get an apartment. It was, like, everything was exciting,” he continued. “So we lived in Glendale and Eagle Rock and we lived in Hollywood, West Hollywood, Venice, by the Hollywood Bowl, all over the place. We’d get thrown out of some places or we’d have to upgrade or downgrade depending on who had money.”

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight in 2016, Damon opened up about his long-term bond with Affleck.

“I’ve known him for 35 years, and we grew up together,” he said at the time. “We were both in love with the same thing — acting and filmmaking. I think we fed on each other’s obsession during really formative, important years and that bonded us for life.”

A source told Us Weekly in 2018 that Damon was “a huge support” for Affleck during his journey to sobriety. “He’ll always be there for Ben whenever he needs him,” the insider added.

More than two decades after walking away with their Academy Award for Good Will Hunting in 1998, the pair confirmed that they’re teaming up again for The Last Duel. They will costar and write the project along with Nicole Holofcener.

Kristen Bell, Britney Spears and Lindsey Vonn are some of the many female stars who proposed to their significant others — details

Shutting down the patriarchy! A man doesn’t have to be the one who pops the question — and there are many female stars who have taken control and proposed to their significant others.

Dax Shepard originally proposed to Kristen Bell in 2009, but the pair chose to wait on getting married until marriage equality existed in the U.S. When the Supreme Court ruled in favor of same-sex marriage in June 2013, the Good Place alum asked the former Parenthood star to marry her via Twitter.

“.@daxshepard1 will you marry me? Xo #marriageequality #loveislove,” she tweeted at the time, to which he responded, “@IMKristenBell F—k Yes!!!!!!!!!!!”

The longtime pair tied the knot in a Beverly Hills courthouse room later that year. The Chips costars welcomed daughters Lincoln in 2013 and Delta in 2014.

In the fourth episode of Britney Spears‘ 2005 series, Britney and Kevin: Chaotic, the pop star revealed that she popped the question to Kevin Federline when they were on a flight to New York City to film her “Outrageous” music video. The dancer said that he “didn’t expect it” even though he had an idea of where their relationship was heading.

“I was like, ‘No, no. It’s not supposed to be that way. I’m supposed to propose and do the whole, get on one knee and beg and plead,’” he recalled. “So, she was like, ‘Alright, you gotta ask me then.’”

Spears added, “He did, right then and there.”

The twosome tied the knot in 2004 and welcomed two sons: Sean Preston in 2005 and Jayden in 2006. They divorced in 2007.

After P.K. Subban proposed to Lindsey Vonn in August 2019, she decided to return the favorite months later. “I was like, ‘Well, I have an engagement ring, but you don’t. So, not everybody knows we’re engaged.’ And I think it should be like, really equal,” she recalled while cohosting Entertainment Tonight in December 2020. “We were going to give each other rings, so I just kind of made a thing about it.”

The former alpine ski racer added, “But I never knew it was going to be that big of a deal … I just wanted to do something that was for us, and special for us.”

The athletes ultimately pumped the brakes on their romance later that month, splitting after three years together.

Back in 2019, Haley Lu Richardson opened up about her unrehearsed proposal to Brett Dier in a mall food court while eating pizza. “I didn’t prepare at all. I had no idea when I woke up that morning that I was going to ask someone to marry me that day,” she told Cosmopolitan at the time. “I was totally in the moment and this gut feeling came up and coerced me to ask him to marry me and I did. And he said yes. I feel like the trick to that was just not thinking about it at all before it happened. I just kind of did it.”

Getting by with a little trip down memory lane! The Wonder Years was an iconic series that explored the ups and downs of adolescence years and how the journey is made better with the support of loved ones.

The coming-of-age drama, created by Neal Marlens and Carol Black, aired for six seasons on ABC from 1988 to 1993. Set between the late 1960s and early 1970s, the series is told from the perspective of Kevin Arnold (Fred Savage) during his adult years.

Dan Lauria, Alley Mills, Jason Hervey, Olivia d’Abo, Danica McKellar and Josh Saviano also starred on the series. Daniel Stern served as the narrator for the adult version of Kevin.

Twenty-one years after the show ended, Savage, McKellar and Saviano reunited for a group appearance on Good Morning America in 2014. During the televised interview, Savage opened up about how The Wonder Years’ look at familial life on TV was different from later reiterations.

“I think the way that families have been portrayed on TV has evolved as we have,” he previously explained. “Ours was a very kind of nuclear, traditional family, but as families have changed, and they look different, they come together in different ways, I love that TV’s reflected that. No matter how families change, there’s still things that all families go through. Regardless of what your family looks like or how it’s been put together, I think you can find stuff to relate to in the show. Some things stay the same.”

McKellar previously told Us Weekly exclusively that she didn’t think Savage would be interested in a Wonder Years reboot. “The show was about a certain time in your life that you can’t go back to and … the bittersweet memory of that is what gave the show its flavor,” she said in February 2019. “So if we went to back to it, we’d kind of be killing the integrity of the original intention of the show. I just don’t think it would work.”

Savage, however, appeared to have a change of tune. In July 2020, Us confirmed that he is teaming up with Empire cocreator Lee Daniels to reimagine The Wonder Years from the perspective of a middle-class Black family. The half-hour comedy will be set in the late 1960s, which is the same time frame as its predecessor.

The show is set to premiere in 2021.

Wilde and Sudeikis met in 2011 following their respective divorces. The Booksmart director was married to Italian-American filmmaker Tao Ruspoli from 2003 to 2011, while the Saturday Night Live alum was married to screenwriter and filmmaker Kay Cannon from 2004 to 2010.

During a 2017 appearance on The Late Late Show With Stephen Colbert, the Horrible Bosses star dished on his first interaction with Wilde.

“I actually came off looking a lot cooler than I really am because I had heard through the grapevine, through mutual friends that weren’t exactly her best girlfriends, that would report back, ‘Oh, you know, I think she’s dating someone,’ so I didn’t make any sort of moves,” he recalled at the time. “I was just very, very busy with other things.”

The former House actress, for her part, opened up how her separation from Ruspoli led her to Sudeikis in Marie Claire’s April 2013 cover story. “I had grown up with Tao; we had just drifted. I felt I had something to prove,” she explained at the time. “If you fall off a horse, you get back up. I am not a quitter. I hung on for as long as possible, until it was more hurtful to stay.”

Wilde continued, “I’m so grateful for the pain and the heartbreak. It gave me the courage to leave and brought me to the great love of my life.”

The Tron: Legacy star also told the publication that she wasn’t necessarily looking for love when she first met Sudeikis, adding, “I was just learning to be by myself; I’d been divorced nine months. We were both seeing people but were single. He seemed to really see me, see through the bulls–t.”

Wilde and Sudeikis announced their engagement in 2013. They are now parents of son Otis and daughter Daisy.

Speaking to Net-a-Porter’s Porter Edit in February 2016, Wilde explained how she believed becoming a parent alongside Sudeikis was a stronger commitment for the couple than tying the knot.

“We are seriously connected,” she said. “Before you have a child, marriage is the ultimate commitment and promise to one another, and then once you have a child, it’s like, ‘Oh, we’re committed and promised already.’”

The longtime couple’s romance came to an end in 2020, when Us Weekly confirmed that they had called off their engagement.

The gang’s all here! New Girl provided fans with laughs for days, but it also never failed to deliver some heartfelt moments. Most importantly, it introduced the world to some of the most lovable and quirky characters that have ever graced the small screen.

Created by Elizabeth Meriwether, the comedic series ran for seven seasons on Fox from 2011 to 2018. Zooey Deschanel (Jessica Day), Jake Johnson (Nick Miller), Lamorne Morris (Winston Bishop), Max Greenfield (Winston Schmidt), Hannah Simone (Cece Parekh) and Damon Wayans Jr. (Ernie “Coach” Tagliaboo) starred.

In the later seasons, Nasim Pedrad joined the show to play Winston Bishop’s colleague and eventual love interest. Megan Fox, meanwhile, stepped in during Deschanel’s pregnancy leave in season 5. She continued to be a part of the series on a recurring basis until the latter half of season 6.

Wayans Jr. left the series after the pilot episode but returned part-way through season 3. He departed New Girl for the second time after season 4. From there, he would reappear as a guest star.

“Working with this incredibly talented and funny cast and crew has been one of the best experiences of my career,” the Happy Endings alum said in his 2015 exit statement, per The Wrap.

Just before the series finale aired in May 2018, Deschanel spoke exclusively to Us Weekly about how she was feeling ahead of saying goodbye. “[It’s] definitely emotional for me. I can’t speak for anyone else but it will definitely be emotional for me,” she explained in November 2017. “It’s been seven years of my life and we’ve all been through so many changes. It’s bittersweet. It’s a huge accomplishment but it’s also sad to move on.”

Greenfield also spoke to Us about parting ways with the project after seven years. “For us, it’s over. It is bittersweet. We had such a great run,” the Neighborhood actor said in March 2018. “We’re so grateful and, I guess, onto the next now.”

As for the cast revisiting New Girl down the line, Greenfield said there’s “always a chance” of that. “I don’t know what they would be doing together,” he continued. “Maybe they’d move back into the loft for fun!”

Man’s best friend! There is no stronger bond than that of a human and their pup — and Chris Evans and his dog, Dodger, are prime examples of this dynamic.

The Avengers star, 38, first met his sweet mixed-breed boxer around the time he was filming his 2017’s Gifted. He shared a video of their initial introduction to Twitter in April 2018, in which Evans — who was off-camera — approached the pen where the rescue pup was being held.

The Knives Out actor says, “Hi dude,” to Dodger as he bends down to put his hand out for the pup, in an effort to become better acquainted. The dog, in turn, shows his affection for Evans by licking and pawing at his hand repeatedly.

Since adopting the Dodger, Evans has sprinkled several adorable posts across his Twitter profile starring his loveable pup. He’s paid tribute to the pet by posting an adorable snap of the duo on International Dog Day in August 2019, and he’s also shared a few videos of Dodger showing off his singing skills. The dog is even featured in the Nanny Diaries star’s Twitter header photo.

Evans isn’t the only one to fall in love with Dodger, as fans have also carved out a place for the pup in their hearts. The internet’s interest in the dog nearly caused many to lose it when Evans shared a picture that some thought indicated the pet had passed on.

“Really missing this guy right now,” he captioned a Twitter pic of the duo in 2017, where the actor was shown softly smiling as he cuddled up with Dodger. After his post attracted worried responses from fans, the Fantastic Four star clarified his initial statement.

“To be clear, he’s alive and well,” Evans wrote. “Just thousands of miles away for the next couple months.”

Seth Rogen was among those who freaked out over Evans’ earlier remark, tweeting at the Marvel star: “F–k dude. I was, like, crying.”

So fetch! Nearly two decades after Mean Girls debuted in theaters across the world, the teen flick remains a favorite with fans and celebrities.

The 2004 film, which raked in $129 million globally on a ‎$17 million budget, is responsible for creating iconic lines including, “On Wednesdays, we wear pink” to “Is butter a carb?” Mean Girls also helped catapult the careers of its stars, including Rachel McAdams and Amanda Seyfried.

“I’ve just worked a long time. I’ve gotten a lot of cool opportunities here and there and I’ve made some good choices with the help of my amazing team,” Seyfried, 33, told the Los Angeles Times in 2013. “I still look back at Mean Girls as my best work.”

Directed by Mark Waters and written by Tina Fey based on the book Queen Bees and Wannabes by Rosalind Wiseman, Mean Girls follows Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) as she navigates her way through the American school system after her family moves back to the U.S. from Africa. Early into her high school journey, she is asked to join The Plastics — a popular girl clique run by Regina George (McAdams). However, Cady finds herself in hot water when she develops a crush on Regina’s ex-boyfriend, Aaron Samuels (Jonathan Bennett).

Fey, Lacey Chabert, Lizzy Caplan, Daniel Franzese, Tim Meadows and Amy Poehler also star.

“I have to thank Regina George for giving me some longevity,” McAdams, 40, told The New York Times in 2018. “I’m forever grateful to Tina Fey and Mark Waters. I remember when I read it, I called my agent right away and said, ‘I will play any part in this, please, please, please.’ I was at the beginning of my career, and it was a lofty thing out there, that I really, really, really wanted to do.”

The popular movie has also spawned a TV film, Mean Girls 2, in 2011 and a Broadway musical created by Fey in 2017. It also inspired Ariana Grande’s “Thank U, Next” video, with Kris Jenner recreating Poehler’s “cool mom” character. Fey additionally announced in January 2020 that she would reimagine the Mean Girls Broadway musical as a major motion picture.

The film’s popularity additionally sparked the launch of the fan-created holiday, “Mean Girls Day,” that’s celebrated annually on October 3. This special occasion references a line said by Lohan’s Cady about her crush, Bennett’s Aaron. “On October 3rd, he asked me what day it was,” she said.

Holmes began dating Cruise in 2005, the same year she called off her engagement to the Sweet Magnolias actor. The First Daughter star revealed her plans to convert to Cruise’s religion, Scientology, that June and they announced their engagement later that month.

The A-listers welcomed their daughter in April 2006 and tied the knot in Italy that November. Nearly six years later, Holmes filed for divorce. The case was finalized in August 2012.

Holmes spoke to InStyle in March 2020 about the aftermath of her divorce from Cruise, in which she moved with their daughter to New York City. “That time was intense. It was a lot of attention, and I had a little child on top of it,” she explained. “We had some funny moments out and about in public. So many people I didn’t know became my friends and helped us out, and that’s what I love about the city.”

A year after her divorce from Cruise, the Batman Begins actress sparked dating rumors with Jamie Foxx — the Top Gun: Maverick actor’s costar in 2004’s Collateral. The twosome mostly hid their romance from the public. They would, however, eventually part ways in 2019 after six years together.

At the time of their split, an insider exclusively revealed to Us Weekly that Holmes was the one to pull the plug on their relationship. News of their split came days after the Just Mercy actor was spotted with singer Sela Vave.

The Brahms: The Boy II actress, meanwhile, went on to start dating Emilio Vitolo Jr. in September 2020. The pair were seen together in New York City on two occasions, one of which they were caught engaging in PDA. In May 2021, Us broke the news that they split.

All in all, Holmes’ primary focus over the last few years has been caring for her only daughter. “My child is the most important person to me, and her upbringing is paramount to my work right now,” she told Town & Country in March 2017. “It’s very important that I’m present and she has a stable, innocent childhood. I feel so blessed to do what I do, but there’s nothing in the world better than watching your child succeed.”

No longer a Bachelorette! Kaitlyn Bristowe has found her happily ever after with boyfriend Jason Tartick as the twosome are now engaged.

The Dew Edit designer, 35, announced the pair’s relationship milestone on Tuesday, May 11. “It was everything I could have asked for,” Bristowe told Entertainment Tonight of the proposal, which took place while she was preparing for an episode of her “Off the Vine” podcast. “The words that came out of his mouth were insanely beautiful. We’ve never locked eyes like that in our lives. We were holding hands, so intense, and I was listening to his every word, but still blacked out.”

Jason Tartick and Kaitlyn Bristowe AFF-USA/Shutterstock

She continued, “Jason’s like, ‘Kaitlyn, we’re not doing a podcast.’ And I’m like, ‘You forgot to hit record, didn’t you!'” Bristowe recalled, laughing. “He was like, ‘No, this is something else,’ and he got up and I saw him bring out a ring box from the drawer.”

While the moment was everything she’d dreamed of, one thing in particular stood out in Bristowe’s mind. “I was trying to be present but I was so overwhelmed, and I was so embarrassed because I was wearing a T-shirt that said, ‘Tequila for Breakfast,'” she joked. “I was like, ‘This feels very on brand, but also very inappropriate!'”

Bristowe began dating the former banker, 32, in January 2019 after meeting through her podcast. The Bachelor Nation couple moved into Bristowe’s Nashville home together in June 2019 and went on to adopt two golden retrievers, Ramen and Pinot.

In May 2020, the former Bachelorette told Us Weekly exclusively that an engagement “feels like the natural next step” for them due to the “good path” they are on. The Spade & Sparrows founder additionally said that she didn’t want to get engaged while quarantining during the coronavirus pandemic, adding: “I told him I don’t want to [have a] quarantine engagement. [I want] a little more romance than just at the house.”

Months later, Tartick revealed that he turned down an offer from Bachelor producers to let him propose to Bristowe during her The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons — Ever! episode. “They actually came to me asking me if I’d like to take this opportunity to propose,” he told Entertainment Tonight June 2020, noting that there wasn’t “any pressure” to do so and that producers wanted to “make it special” for them. “I shot it down after about a day of thinking.”

The former Bachelorette contestant explained that he didn’t want to pop the question during an occasion where Bristowe would be revisiting past romances, adding: “We don’t need these stories to align in the same showing. But I told Kaitlyn after… she’s like, ‘Thank God [you didn’t do it].’”

Beyond engagement and marriage, the duo have already discussed their future plans to start a family. “We’re on the same page, 100 percent on the same page. We want two kids,” Tartick said on the “Almost Famous” podcast in September 2020. “Over quarantine, we actually have one of our kids’ names picked out already. Completely normal, right?”

The reality star added, “If that next chapter is — will be — us having kids, she’s just going to be the most badass mother ever. Knowing her, she’s just so committed to everything she does and passionate.”

Bristowe was previously engaged to Shawn Booth, whom she met on The Bachelorette in 2015. They announced their split in November 2018 after three years together.

Come on back to the early 2000s! It’s been nearly 10 years since The Girls Next Door aired on E! — making it the perfect time to revisit the fun-filled show.

The Girls Next Door ran for six seasons from 2005 to 2009. Created by Kevin Burns, the reality series gave an inside look at the lives of Hugh Hefner’s three main girlfriends Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt and Kendra Wilkinson. Fans got to see the bunch as they traveled, partied and lived in the Playboy mansion.

In the show’s final season, the spotlight was shifted toward Hefner’s three new girlfriends: Crystal Harris and twins Kristina Shannon and Karissa Shannon.

Though the series showcased the Hef’s then-girlfriends fun-filled adventures, Madison has often alleged that being a part of that world wasn’t all it’s cracked up to be. In her 2015 Down the Rabbit Hole memoir, she opened up about how the severity of her depression led her to contemplate suicide three years before the series aired. However, she told BuzzFeed News while promoting the book that her experience living in the mansion got better with the E! show’s arrival.

“I was sad at times after Girls Next Door, too, but I felt like the TV show improved our experience a lot,” she previously explained to the news outlet.

The OG stars also had a falling out in the years since the show ended, but it was Madison, and Wilkinson, in particular, who publicly feuded. Speaking out on the trio’s post-show dynamic, Marquardt said that they will always be connected regardless of where they stand with one another.

“I feel like we have a bond, the three of us,” she said on Hollywood Today Live in 2016. “It’s kind of, like, it’s not like a sisterhood, it’s not like friends. I mean, it is friends, but it’s something totally different than any other relationship you could possibly imagine.”

In April 2021, the feud resurfaced when Madison mentioned their joint time in the mansion during an episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast.

The Holly’s World alum claimed that Wilkinson wasn’t being honest when she stated that she moved in with the late Hefner before having sex with him — something Wilkinson said during her time on I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! in 2014. “I’m not trying to slut-shame anybody or anything, but nobody ever got asked to move in unless they had slept with him,” Madison said.

Wilkinson laughed off the comments on social media, explaining that “times have changed” and she had other priorities now.

Crystal sided with Wilkinson at the time, noting that the drama was aged and worth moving on from. “I was at the mansion for a DECADE almost four years ago now and these ladies and their drama were there years before that. I side with Kendra here,” she wrote in a post on the MeWe app.

Hugh’s widow told Us Weekly exclusively that she was interested in a possible reconciliation between the four of them.

“Let’s talk about it, let’s stop hating each other and, like, all sit down and just hash it out. That would be interesting,” Crystal told Us. “Because I have a feeling we will have so much in common and we would all be friends, but because we all hate each other for apparently no reason. I mean, how many people on the planet share this common experience? Not many. So, my hope is for us all to have a red table talk and just see how it goes.”

For fans who still miss the popular series, Wilkinson previously hinted that a Girls Next Door reboot could potentially happen. During a March 2016 teaser trailer for Kendra on Top, Wilkinson said that “somebody did reach out about a possible Girls Next Door reunion” and added: “Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.”

A lasting love. Kobe Bryant and Vanessa Bryant’s decades-long romance came to a tragic end when the NBA legend died on January 26, 2020. Despite their relationship’s heartbreaking conclusion, their romance was filled with many highs over the years.

The love between Kobe and Vanessa began not long after the duo first met in November 1999. The couple were engaged six months into their whirlwind romance, and they later tied the knot in the spring of 2001. During the course of their marriage, the pair welcomed four daughters: Natalia, Gianna, Bianka, and Capri.

In January 2020, Kobe revealed the key to his marriage’s success during an appearance on Showtime Basketball’s All the Smoke. He noted on the YouTube series that “commitment” and the “competitiveness of ‘We’re going to succeed’” kept the couple going throughout the years.

“We’ve seen couples that have been, like, 85 years old and you look and you’re like, ‘Oh man, such an old, sweet couple,’ and I’d go talk to them because I wanna know … ,” the Los Angeles Lakers star said at the time. “One time a guy goes, ‘Yeah it’s great, but she just kicked me out of the bed last night, I was sleeping on the couch last two nights.’”

Kobe argued that the highs and lows are an essential element to a lasting marriage. “That’s all the beauty of it: having the persistence and determination to work through things — very, very tough things — and we’ve been able to do that,” he admitted.

The pair’s marriage has survived many hurdles, from Kobe’s sexual misconduct allegations to a devastating miscarriage. The pair initially announced their plans to separate in 2011, but they later called off the divorce proceedings and opted to stay together in 2013.

“We are pleased to announce that we have reconciled,” Vanessa wrote via Instagram in January 2013. “Our divorce action will be dismissed. We are looking forward to our future together.”

Kobe and his second eldest daughter Gianna died in a helicopter accident in Calabasas, California, in January 2020. Authorities confirmed that the pair died along with seven others while flying in the late athlete’s helicopter. When the rotorcraft crashed onto a hillside, it erupted into flames. Kobe was 41 and Gigi was 13.

Sticking together. In the wake of her split from Kanye West, Kim Kardashian can count on the support of her family to get her through it.

The estranged pair received many supportive messages from the Kardashian-Jenner family, following their split, Kardashian, 40, filed for divorce from West, 43, on Friday, February 19.

The KKW Beauty mogul met West in the early 2000s, but their romance didn’t flourish until after she split from now-ex-husband Kris Humphries in 2011. “Right before I got married to Kris Humphries, [Kanye and I] were talking, and I just went a different direction,” she recalled on the Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ 10th anniversary special in 2017. “I think I had to go through that to figure out what I wanted.”

After they began dating in 2012, Kim gave birth to the duo’s eldest child, North, the following year. The twosome got engaged in October 2013, and they tied the knot in Italy in May 2014.

In addition to North, the A-listers have welcomed Saint (in 2015), Chicago (in 2018) and Psalm (in 2019). “I’m so thankful for my beautiful kids, no matter how they came to me — they came to me. I’m so thankful for surrogates,” she said during a December 2019 Skims video while describing her children’s difficult births, noting that she “would have gone through the same pain and back for the result” because it “was all worth it.”

Kim and West encountered many obstacles over the years. The biggest hurdles came in 2020 when the “Stronger” rapper, who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2017, had several public outbursts after announcing his presidential run that July. Around that time, he claimed that the pair planned to abort their eldest daughter and that he was “trying” to divorce the reality star in 2018, among other bombshell claims. He eventually issued a public apology to his longtime love.

Despite his erratic behavior, a source told Us Weekly that they planned on reaching “some sort of resolution for the two of them and their family.” However, by January 5, Us confirmed that Kim was ready to move on from the marriage after six years. They had “both been living separate lives for many months now” and “haven’t been on the same page for a while now,” a second source said.

A third insider revealed that Kim and West “haven’t been on the same page” for a while. “She has grown up a lot this past year and is studying the law so she can really make change and provide a better world for her kids,” the source explained. “Kanye isn’t as focused and doesn’t live in the real world, their world views no longer line up.”

The Skims founder hired high-powered attorney Laura Wasser to finalize her divorce settlement before formally filing against the Yeezy designer. Wasser, who counts Britney Spears and Ryan Reynolds as former clients, has “been on retainer and actively working” for Kardashian since last summer.
