In response, the former Grey's Anatomy star said, "The kids??!! What about me??!! I thought it was a random slightly chaotic song about watermelons and sugar and... well hell I have no idea what I thought the song was about but oral sex never crossed my mind."

She added, "I guess Harry and I have different adjectives to describe the experience."

But as mentioned before, the One Direction singer has never said that "Watermelon Sugar" is a sexual innuendo. In fact, he once shared that he was inspired to write the tune after seeing the book In Watermelon Sugar by Richard Brautigan during a writing session. As he put it in a Tiny Desk interview with NPR, "I was like ‘That'll sound cool!'"

And like all art in the world, his music is up for interpretation. Harry actually encourages fans to decide what it means for themselves, previously explaining, "It's kind of why I tend not to explain songs too much because I think it's important for it to, I guess to allow it to mean whatever it means to different people."

"And I know there's songs that I've loved in my life where I find out it's about something else and I'm almost like, 'Oh, I wish I didn't know that, because it used to mean so much to me.' And it's amazing if people can relate to your music." He continued, "I just love music and I make what excites me and I think if somebody else can relate to it and take something from it, then that's kind of the biggest compliment they can give me."

Katherine's revelation comes hours after "Watermelon Sugar" received a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Solo Performance. Additionally, his album, Fine Line, was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album, while "Adore You" got a Best Music Video nod.

"I'm very upset by it and I'm dreading people seeing it," she stated. "I think it's very unkind to many members of the family [to dramatize the accident]."

The skiing accident, which happened near Klosters, Switzerland in March 1988, was addressed in episode nine of the series, which was titled "Avalanche." In the episode, Prince Charles (Josh O'Connor) and Princess Diana (Emma Corrin) are forced to make a decision regarding their future together, with the avalanche serving as a symbol of their otherwise failed marriage.

Charles survived the incident unscathed, along with friend Patricia Palmer-Tomkinson, who sustained severe leg injuries and lung problems. Princess Diana and Sarah Ferguson accompanied the group on their ski trip, but decided to stay back at the lodge that morning. 

Diana went on to recall Lindsay's death in recorded conversations with Andrew Morton, which he included in the biography Diana: In Her Own Words. She told the writer, "The whole thing was ghastly and what a nice person he was. Out of all the people who went it should never have been him."

Though The Crown gives an exhaustive look into the life of the British royal family, Netflix has admitted it's a dramatization. Series creator Peter Morgan himself stated, "Sometimes you have to forsake accuracy, but you must never forsake truth."

However, it seems the royal family and Princess Diana's family would characterize the series as anything but truthful. Princess Diana's brother, Charles Spencer, even called the show "fiction."

"I find Americans tell me they have watched The Crown as if they have taken a history lesson. Well, they haven't," Spencer said in a recent interview. "There is a lot of conjecture and a lot of invention, isn't there? You can hang it on fact but the bits in between are not fact."

She jokes, "Just when you think 2020 couldn't get any weirder, what the hell has just happened?"

Whether Scott wrote the alleged DMs is still up in the air though. Megan thinks it's possible Scott did write the messages, but she says he "definitely" had the help of a Brit who is more likely to use words like "mugged off" or "program." And this is very much a possibility since Scott is dating Amelia Hamlin, the little sister of Eyal's current girlfriend, Delilah Belle Hamlin.
