Ava DuVernay is diving even deeper into the world of DC Comics.

EW has learned that the Emmy-winner is joining forces with former Arrow executive producer Jill Blankenship and the CW to develop a script for Naomi, a prospective series featuring the DC Comics character of the same name. If the show is actually greenlit, it will be DuVernay's third DC project in addition to the recently ordered DMZ at HBO Max and her forthcoming New Gods movie, which she's directing and co-writing.

The show Naomi will follow its titular teenage heroine as she journeys "from her small northwestern town to the heights of the multiverse," according to the show's logline. "When a supernatural event shakes her hometown to the core, Naomi sets out to uncover its origins, and what she discovers will challenge everything we believe about our heroes."

Naomi, a Black protagonist, is a relatively new addition to the DC universe. She made her comics debut in 2019's Naomi: Season One, co-written by Brian Michael Bendis — who co-created the Miles Morales Spider-Man for Marvel — David F. Walker, and illustrated by Jamal Campbell. In the comic, Naomi's story begins when a fight between Superman and Mongul crashes into her hometown and accidentally reveals a new mystery surrounding Naomi's origins and adoption. As of right now, it's unclear how closely the show will stick to the comics.

With Supergirl and Black Lightning ending in 2021 and the newly announced development of Naomi, it seems as though the CW is betting on younger, newer characters as it starts to figure out the future of its superhero line-up. The network is also working on a Wonder Girl series and a Black Lightning spin-off centered on Jordan Calloway's Painkiller.

Naomi will be produced by ARRAY Filmworks (Sarah Bremner and Paul Garnes) in association Warner Bros TV.

We definitely haven't seen the last of David Ramsey, or his on-screen Arrow persona John Diggle, in the Arrowverse: EW has confirmed that Ramsey is returning to the CW's shared superhero universe in 2021, juggling multiple commitments across the several of the shows.

First off, Ramsey will guest-star in five episodes in the Arrowverse. He's set to reprise the role of Diggle on Superman & Lois, Supergirl, The Flash, and Batwoman. When we last checked in with Diggle in the Arrow series finale, he was in the process of moving to Metropolis when he discovered a bright green object at meteor crash site, which was a nod to the prevailing fan theory that he was destined to become a Green Lantern (He later appeared in The Flash's first post-Crisis on Infinite Earths episode, "Marathon").

Ramsey will also appear on DC's Legends of Tomorrow; however, his role is currently being kept under wraps. Knowing Legends, it's probably safe to assume it'll be something very, well, Legends.

On top of all of that, though, the 49-year-old actor will also direct five episodes in the Arrowverse, including Superman & Lois and Supergirl. Ramsey made his directorial debut with the Arrow season 7 episode "Past Sins" and went on to helm season 8's "Reset," an emotional time-loop hour that was one of the best episodes of the final season (see EW's ranking of every Arrow episode).

"I remain in awe of the imprint these shows have had on television and I've been blessed for the better part of a decade to be a part of them both in front of and behind the camera," said Ramsey in a statement obtained by EW. "To say I'm excited beyond belief to return to the Berlantiverse would be an understatement. I can't wait to continue telling these stories."

It's not entirely surprising that Ramsey is returning to the Arrowverse, given what co-creator Marc Guggenheim told reporters at a screening of Arrow's series finale last January. "David and I have actually talked a lot about Diggle’s and David’s post Arrow future. We’ve got some really good ideas, and I’m going to stand pat on that," said Guggenheim. "I will also say David has become a remarkable director, so we’re as interested in him behind the cameras as we are in front."

The CW's Arrowverse shows return with new episodes in 2021, starting with Batwoman on Jan. 17, followed by Black Lightning on Feb. 8, and The Flash and Superman & Lois on Feb. 23. Supergirl and DC's Legends of Tomorrow are being held for midseason.

New Search Party photos reveal some of the impressive guest-stars coming our way in season 4.

On Tuesday, HBO Max revealed that Susan Sarandon (Ray Donovan), Busy Philipps (Cougar Town), Ann Dowd (The Handmaid's Tale), Griffin Dunne (I Love Dick), and Lillias White (The Life) will appear in the forthcoming season, which is expected to debut in January 2021. Not only that, but famed Goosebumps author R.L. Stine will also make a cameo appearance. Why? Who knows at this point!

Last time we checked with the mystery satire, Dory (Alia Shawkat) and Drew (John Reynolds) had just been found not guilty of the murder of Keith Powell at the end of season 1. Unfortunately, Dory couldn't simply just go back to brunch because psychotic stalker Chip (Difficult People's Cole Escola) kidnapped her in the season 3 finale, thereby setting up season 4 to return to Search Party's season 1 roots. Well, assuming her "friends" even notice she's missing.

When season 4 begins, Chip is still holding Dory prisoner and intent on making her believe they're best friends. Unfortunately for Dory, her friends simply assume she's touring Europe and move on with their lives: Portia (Meredith Hagner) is cast as Dory in a movie about the trial; the opportunistic Elliott (John Early) rebrands himself as a right-wing talk show host; and Drew becomes a costumed cast member at a theme park to escape everything. Eventually, the millennials start to realize Dory may be in trouble and "must decide whether or not to put their traumatic pasts behind them and once again become a search party – but this time, for Dory," according to the season's logline.

Anna Diop is finally getting her own super-suit on Titans.

On Monday, Titans revealed our first look at Starfire's brand new threads for the drama's upcoming third season, which is currently in production. In the DC Universe-turned-HBO Max show's first two seasons, Diop's Kory typically went into battle in whatever she was wearing at the time (give or take a fur coat), but now costume designer Laura Jean Shannon has given her a new suit that'll fit right alongside her teammate's equally extravagant crimefighting looks (We're looking at you Hawk, Dove, and Nightwing). And she'll definitely need the added protection given where things left off last year.

In Titans season 2, Kory's sister Blackfire (Damaris Lewis), who rules over their home planet Tamaran, sent a henchman to capture Kory and bring her home; however, that proved unsuccessful. So Blackfire decided to get her hands dirty herself and landed on Earth intent on hunting Kory down in the final moments of the season 2 finale.

Kory isn't the only Titan receiving a new look this season. Last month, Titans unveiled Jason Todd's (Curran Walters) new Red Hood costume. Jason adopts this new persona in his quest for vengeance against his former teammates.

"Time to be powerful."

That's what Javicia Leslie declares in the exclusive Batwoman season 2 teaser above. Clocking in at just 10 seconds, the CW superhero drama's new TV spot reveals the moment Leslie's Ryan Wilder decides to put on the Batsuit for the first time — and what it means to her.

The God Friended Me alum picks up the Crimson Knight mantle following the departure of Ruby Rose, who played original Batwoman Kate Kane, at the end of season 1. When we meet Leslie's character Ryan in the season 2 premiere, she's living out of her van and haunted by her difficult past. However, hope arrives when she finds Kate's Batsuit in the most unexpected way. (What happened to Kate is one of the season's big mysteries.)

After years of feeling like a victim, Ryan views the cape and cowl as the key to never feeling like that again. So, she makes the life-changing decision to suit up in a grimy gas station bathroom (as depicted in the teaser) and heads out to, well, do what Batwoman does: fight crime.

Of course, the suit she puts on in the teaser isn't the one she'll wear for the rest of the series. While Ryan starts out the season in Kate's old costume, she makes the suit her own and debuts her objectively dope new look in episode 3, as revealed in new first look images last month.

The differences between Kate's Batwoman and Ryan's Batwoman aren't just aesthetic, though. What they hope to do with the suit also differs due to their contrasting socioeconomic backgrounds — Kate's privileged upbringing versus Ryan's firsthand experience with Gotham City's failings.

"[Becoming Batwoman is] going to be a struggle because when you’re part of a community that has been neglected by the system, that’s the initial community that you feel responsible for helping," said Leslie during the show's DC FanDome panel. "And that’s what you’re going to see. You’re going to see that community of Gotham that got overlooked. It’s funny because a lot of Mary’s [Nicole Kang] patients can be examples of that community — that community that gets overlooked by the hospital, by the Crows. It’s a very personal thing, but that will be a huge battle. When Caroline and I were talking about it — just the battle of, they’re not the only ones that need help, but those are the ones that Ryan is attached to that she really wants to be able to help."

Also joining Leslie and the rest of the cast in season 2 are recurring guest-stars Shivani Ghai (Dominion) as Safiyah, the oft-referenced intimidating figure from Alice's (Rachel Skarsten) past, and Leah Gibson (Jessica Jones) as the Whisper, Safiyah's loyal henchwoman. Alex Morf (Gotham) will guest-star as DC Comics villain Victor Zsasz.
