An iconic outfit. Prince William and Prince Harry honored their late mother, Princess Diana, on what would have been her 60th birthday with a statue in her memory on Thursday, July 1. 

While there’s much to dissect about the sculpture — from her stance to the three children surrounding her — it appears that her outfit in the design carries a special meaning. 

The Princess of Wales is wearing a sleek pencil skirt, a large belt buckle cinched around her waist and a loose blouse with a few buttons undone. 

The ensemble is a replica of one the late royal wore in her 1993 Christmas card, where she posed in a similar stance alongside her two children. 

Released just a few years before her death in 1997, the holiday note was Princess Diana’s first official card following her separation from Prince Charles. 

It also depicts a time in her life when she became empowered in her own right. Kensington palace explained that “the portrait and style of dress was based on the final period of her life as she gained confidence in her role as an ambassador for humanitarian causes and aims to convey her character and compassion.” 

But, if you look closely, there is a key difference in the people’s princess’ appearance. While her hair is a little longer in the original holiday card, sculptor Ian Rank-Boardley gave her a sleeker hairstyle, a ‘do she embraced a few years later. 

That said, it’s certainly sweet that the statue, which was commissioned by Prince William and Prince Harry in 2017, has a special tie to a time she shared with her sons. 

“Today, on what would have been our Mother’s 60th birthday, we remember her love, strength and character — qualities that made her a force for good around the world, changing countless lives for the better,” the brothers said in a joint statement.

They continued: “Every day, we wish she were still with us, and our hope is that this statue will be seen forever as a symbol of her life and her legacy.” 

The unveiling was kept intimate, with Prince Charles, Queen Elizabeth and Duchess Kate notably missing. 

“The royals wanted to keep it very perusal and not have many family members in attendance since that would be a takeaway from the special moment,” a source told Us Weekly exclusively. “This wasn’t a last-minute decision; it was decided on a few weeks ago that the other royals wouldn’t be attending. Meghan [Markle] just had her baby, [Duchess] Kate watched from afar with the kids, and same with the Queen. Charles had said he didn’t want to be a distraction.”

Singers and celebs made their way to the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 27. And from the second they started showing up, it was clear they were putting their best stiletto-clad foot forward. 

The event, which was hosted by Taraji P. Henson, brought out some seriously stylish stars like H.E.R. and Andra Day, so the bar was set pretty high. 

As such, everyone brought their A-game. From edgy ensembles like Coi Leray’s Venus Prototype crop top and Hood by Air baggy pants to glitzy gowns like KJ Smith’s Yoursef Al Jasmi’s beaded frock, the stars served up every kind of look under the sun. 

Metallic definitely had a moment, with Ciara shimmering in a silver Alexandre Vauthier jumpsuit, Sevyn Streeter stunning in a Laroxx genie-inspired two-piece set and Ashanti glittering in a gorgeous Julien Macdonald gown. 

Some skipped the sparkle though in favor of simple black or white dresses and getups. Take Queen Latifah, who rocked a Thom Browne skirt suit, or Issa Rae, who went with a Balmain blazer dress. 

Bling was also of the essence. For example, Megan Thee Stallion, who stunned in a custom Jean Paul Gaultier gown, sparkled in more than 35 carats of Bulgari diamonds.

The ceremony looked a little different than normal, staying in line with COVID-19 protocols. Still, presenters and a number of nominees flocked to London’s Television Centre to strut their stuff down the red carpet on Sunday, June 6. 

And, let Us just say, the fashion from the evening was truly next level! From bright pops of color and floral designs to feathery frocks, the red carpet saw one award-worthy look after the next. 

Patterns and prints were the name of the game, with polka dots stealing the show. Siena Kelly showed up in a De La Vali yellow dress, while Helena Bonham Carter rocked a black and white Dolce and Gabbana number. 

Zawe Ashton was certainly a style standout as well, stunning in a pop art-esque Zimmerman gown. She paired the voluminous dress with Sophie Bille Brahe earrings and ring, a Completed Works bracelet and Dora Teymur metallic silver boots. 

Another actress we must mention is Bridgerton’s Nicola Coughlan, who has established herself as a tremendously up-and-coming style icon. Sticking to her go-to puff sleeve, Coughlan looked gorgeous in a custom Valentino Haute Couture midi-length dress, which she accessorized with Vashi jewels.

Clark, who was best known for his role as Freddy Jones in the 2003 movie, died on Wednesday, May 26, after a fatal accident in his hometown of Chicago. Us Weekly confirmed that the 32-year-old drummer was rushed to the hospital after a motorist hit him while he was riding his bike.

“He told his bandmates just yesterday: You know, this is finally the life I want to live. And we’re going to make it. You’re my musical family — my family — and we’re all going to make it,” his mother, Allison Clark, told the Chicago Sun-Times after news of her son’s passing. “He loved music. He’s just a raw talent. He’s got a heart of gold.”

Allison also recalled Kevin landing the part in the Jack Black movie when he was 12 years old.

“He wasn’t an actor, wasn’t thinking about being an actor,” she said, noting her son’s love for music and playing the drums. “He just kind of shined [in the audition].”

The proud mother added that her son knew he got the part after he saw a New York number calling.

“He said he got the part and I asked him how he knew. And he pointed to the area code on the phone. And, sure enough, he got the part,” she explained.

Kevin, meanwhile, shared his audition story during a 2013 interview with 22 Vision.

“I went in there, said some lines, played on a little electric drum set, then I left, and my mom decided to talk, as she does, for a long time — God love her,” he said before referencing Joey Gaydos Jr., who played guitarist Zack Mooneyham. “Because Joey went in about 20 minutes after my audition and did the same thing with his lines, blew them away on guitar and then they came out.”

The late musician reunited with Black, who played Dewey Finn, a guitarist posing as a substitute teacher, in School of Rock at a 2018 concert.

Whether they played it safe in a traditional tuxedo or took a major risk with fun and funky colors, the men at the Academy Awards pulled through with their fair share of sexy suits.

And given that this evening’s show not only marks the grand finale of awards season, but also had an IRL red carpet, we’re thankful that Hollywood’s hunks gave Us a ton of fashion-forward (and iconic!) style moments.

Hearts went racing when Aldis Hodge hit the scene, wearing a white Dolce & Gabbana suit with floral stitching and silk lapels. He added a bit of contrast with a black bow tie and patent leather Jimmy Choo shoes. As for his bling? A Harry Winston watch and cuff links added some extra pizzaz.

A handful of stars stuck to their traditional suit and tie, but that doesn’t mean they looked any less dapper. Riz Ahmed looked fiery in a navy Prada getup and Steven Yeun opted for a traditional Gucci tuxedo.

Sacha Baron Cohen, who tuned in from Australia with wife Isla Fisher, switched things up from his typical awards show looks, going for a much lighter ensemble. He wore a Ralph Lauren suit, complete with white pants and a chocolate brown blazer and bow tie.

This list wouldn’t be complete without a proper shoutout to Colman Domingo, who has absolutely exceeded our expectations. He was a refreshing pop of hot pink on the carpet, wearing a 3-piece Atelier Versace suit and Christian Louboutin shoes. The 40-year-old reality star, who is worth $1 billion according Forbes, stopped by the beach to have some fun in the sun and the sand. Dressed in a low cut gold bikini and kneeling on the shore, the KKW Beauty founder splashed in the water for a few candid snaps.

She captioned the April 6 Instagram post, “Bliss.” Friends hopped into the comments section to not only shout out the star’s impressive bikini body, but also give her a virtual pat on the back for her billionaire title.

Longtime friend Stephanie Sheperd dropped some mermaid emojis on the picture, while Jonathan Cheban wrote, “Billionaire vibes.”

Fans also got in on the action, with slews of “stunning” and “congrats.”

And as if there wasn’t enough going on the lawyer-to-be’s life, she also launched the first-ever Skims pop up store at The Grove in Los Angeles, California.

Obviously the store was as chic as possible and had every little detail nailed down. There was even a Skims Ice Cream cooler just outside!

The monochromatic box-like store has walls stocked to the brim with Skims shapewear in a range of colors and sizes as well as the new Stretch Rib collection.

Even though the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star clearly has a large bank account thanks to her many businesses, she has no intention of slowing down.

In fact, she’s planning on adding another namesake brand to her stacked resume. In March 2021 the mom of four filed a trademark for a skincare brand, which will be named SKNN by Kim.

Details about the beauty bosses’ newest venture are pretty under wraps, but according to documents obtained by Us Weekly it could include anything from salon services to hair accessories.

Yes, that’s right. The mom of two has recently upped her hair game. Sure, she’s known for her gorgeous curls, ethereal braids and the occasional messy bun. But as of late, she’s hid her brunette color time and again in favor of fun and funky shades.

We would normally attribute avid wig wearing to nothing more than a good time or style switch up, but in March 2021 Teigen revealed that there’s more to her wig wearing than meets the hair.

In an Instagram video, Teigen showed off her sleek silver wig with the caption, “trust me its my midlife lol.” Later the same week —  still rocking her silver strands, she posted a photo alongside comedian Sebastian Maniscalco and artist Lana Gomez.

“This man, one of the most brutally funny people I’ve ever met, didn’t say a word about my midlife crisis hair for the entire taping,” she captioned the Instagram post.

“Midlife crisis” aside, Teigen’s wig habit has been months in the making. She switched things up at the start of the year with a purple wig, noting “the wig life chose me.’ To get her hair looking its best, she tapped hairstylist Irinel de León.

She amped up her obsession in the weeks that followed, sporting everything from a black curly ‘do a la Cher to a light pink lob.

The This Is Us star announced the little one’s arrival with a close-up shot of his blue onesie. “Gus is here,” the actress captioned the social media upload. “Our sweet boy, August Harrison Goldsmith. He was punctual and arrived right on his due date, much to the delight of his parents. We were prepared to fall in love in all sorts of brand new ways, but it goes beyond anything we could have ever imagined.”

The New Hampshire native, whose full name is Amanda,​ went on to write later that same week that she and the Dawes frontman had “settled on” their newborn’s name months ahead of his birth.

“For our anniversary in November, T gifted me with this [August] blanket with the ‘A’ (for Amanda) made from extra material from my wedding dress and ‘T’ (for Taylor) from his wedding shirt,” the singer wrote via Instagram. “Felt like a very fitting amalgamation of our whole story. I can’t wait to pass this on to our sweet August one day.”

The couple wed in November 2018 in Los Angeles, one year after their engagement. They announced in September 2020 that they were starting a family.

“Baby boy Goldsmith coming early 2021,” Moore captioned her Instagram reveal at the time.

During a Today show appearance two months later, the Princess Diaries star said she felt that playing Rebecca Pearson on This Is Us had helped her prepare for motherhood.

“It’s funny, I mean having played a sort of matriarch of a family for the last five years and getting to sort of see children at various different chapters and stages, I feel like I’m as pseudo-prepared as I can be,” Moore explained to Hoda Kotb in November 2020. “I’ve had babies and toddlers and I have adult children, so I’ve kind of gotten a pretty good taste and lay of the land.”

The long awaited Golden Globes red carpet kicked off awards season with a new approach given the pandemic. Presenters showed up to either New York’s Rainbow Room or The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills on Sunday, February 28. Nominees on the other hand tuned in from the comfort of their homes.

While some stars decided to skip their suits in favor of sweats, most Hollywood heartthrobs looked unbelievably dapper. And even if they didn’t have a chance to walk the red carpet, they still gave us a glimpse of their looks via video call or Instagram.

When it came to fashion, we saw a fair share of men opting for velvet accents. For example, presenter Justin Theroux showed up wearing a Yves Saint Laurent ensemble with a velvet jacket. Nicholas Hoult took a page out of the same playbook, wearing a Giorgio Armani velvet suit, which was accessorized with a Jaeger-LeCoultre watch.

Another winner of the evening in more ways than one was The Crown’s Josh O’Connor, who won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama TV Series. He was dressed like royalty in a Loewe suit, which featured white pants and a black jacket with white lapels.

In the tuxedo department, The Bachelor’s Nick Viall went for a classic look in a Todd Snyder tuxedo, which he paired with a pocket square and bow tie. Chris Meloni also took a traditional approach, wearing an Armani tux.

However, a few of the men choose to kick off the season with riskier ensembles. And let Us say, it paid off! Golden Globe nominee Dan Levy showed up rocking a chartreuse Valentino suit a la David Rose. He paired the bright blazer and pants with a sequin turtleneck and metallic silver platform shoes.

Of course, this hottest hunks list wouldn’t be complete without a shoutout to Tahar Rahim who’s starring in The Mauritanian. The French actor had our jaws literally and figuratively on the floor the second we got a glimpse of his custom, navy Louis Vuitton suit and watch, which was paired with a sleek black turtleneck.

“Bump date,” the Bachelor in Paradise alum, 33, wrote on her Sunday, January 10, Instagram Story. “26 weeks. … Belly button still hanging in there.”

The former reality star sported black leggings and a blue sports bra in the social media upload. The Montana native was hanging at home with her boyfriend, Miles Bowles, trying to build a shelf and “destroy[ing]” their room.

While Nielson said that the project would “be so worth it,” she added, “We had to stop building my new shelf because I don’t have an electric screwdriver so I have to go to Home Depot today and buy a toolset. And I feel like this is a long time coming because right now I use a high heel for a hammer so I’m just gonna get my big glass of water and set out on this adventure.”

The former ABC personality shared her pregnancy news in November 2020, and her stomach “officially popped” the following month.

“This little angel has been moving like crazy this week!” the fitness guru wrote via Instagram in December 2020. “Miles and I even saw her kick through my SHIRT!!! That is some serious strength for only weighing just over 1 lb.”

The personal trainer started dating Bowles in May 2020, three months after her split from Chris Randone. The former couple met and fell in love on season 5 of BiP and tied the knot in June 2019 in Mexico.

Nielson and the Bachelorette alum, 33, planned to have kids together, exclusively telling Us Weekly in August 2019 that she was “off birth control.”

The Bachelor alum told Us at the time: “We’re going to spend the rest of the year just detoxing, putting good stuff in our body. We want to start trying for a family at the beginning of the year. So we’re just using the rest of the year to … get situated get our new home [and] take our honeymoon.”

After their February 2020 separation, Nielson filed for divorce in August of that same year. The New York native congratulated his ex-wife when she moved on and announced her pregnancy, Nielson said in a December 2020 “Scheananigans With Scheana Shay” podcast episode.

“He texted me and said he thinks I’m going to become a wonderful mother and he’s really, really happy for me and hopes that we can become friends and be there for each other,” she explained at the time. “So we are on really good terms.”

However, her favorite workouts are quick ones like jump rope. “I like the ones that get my heart rate up,” she told British Vogue. “But I understand the importance of the ones that are more slow and burning and conditioning and tightening.”

But she was never much of a fan of exercise before she met Holder. “I’ve never liked working out before I started working out with Joe,” she said during her YouTube series #BeingNaomi. “I don’t like everything he makes me do, but it’s not about liking it. It’s about attacking the body in different parts and conditioning.”

The fashion legend turned 50 back in May 2020. Coming in at number one is none other than Mariah Carey and her infamous $10 million bauble from David Packer. The 35-carat emerald-cut diamond ring is truly a standout above the rest, even if their engagement only lasted 7 months.

At number two is the queen of diamonds, Elizabeth Taylor. Though the Hollywood legend acquired multiple engagement rings throughout her life, her most expensive was technically not an engagement ring at all! The story goes that Richard Burton gave Taylor the 33-carat asscher-cut diamond on a yacht four years after they were married. It was the Cat on a Hot Tin Roof actress who decided to turn it into a ring.

Though Burton is said to have paid $307,000 at auction for what was then called Vera Krupp diamond, it’s now estimated to be worth $8.8 million. And it’s more widely known as the Elizabeth Taylor diamond.

Another old Hollywood starlet included on this impressive list is Grace Kelly, who became the Princess of Monaco after marrying Prince Rainier II of Monaco in 1956. Originally, the royal proposed to the Rear Window star with an eternity band filled with rubies and diamonds from family heirlooms. However, when she was filming High Society, the costume designer was going to create a giant fake diamond ring. Instead, the prince offered to buy her a real second one. This was a 10.47-carat emerald-cut bauble flanked by two baguette-cut side stones designed by Caritier. According to Est1897 evaluators, it’s estimated to cost $4,060,000.

As the company was researching, they also looked into the most expensive royal engagement rings of all time, which turned out to be Kate Middleton. “It is with great sadness we announce the sudden death of Stella Tennant on 22nd December 2020,” a statement from the family said, per BBC News. “Her family asks for their privacy to be respected. Arrangements for a memorial service will be announced at a later date.”

The English beauty made a name for herself in 1990s, becoming a muse for Steven Meisel and Karl Lagerfeld. She went on to appear in campaigns for Calvin Klein and Burberry, while walking the runways for Versace and Alexander McQueen. She also appeared alongside Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell at the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony.

Fashion A-listers took to social media on Wednesday, December 23, to mourn the loss of the industry insider.

“So saddened to hear the devastating news about Stella Tennant. She was an incredible talent and someone I had so much admiration and respect for,” Victoria Beckham wrote in an Instagram caption, sharing a pic of Tennant walking in one of her shows. “This photo is of her opening my first show back at London Fashion Week in 2018, to celebrate my 10th anniversary. It was a huge privilege to have her there and meant so much to me, I just loved everything about her. My thoughts are with her family.”

Stella McCartney shared a playful black-and-white photo of her and Tennant. “My darling Stella, I f–king love you and will miss you so, so terribly,” she wrote in the accompanying caption. “What sad, horrific news to end this already shocking year! My heart goes out to your stunning family who must be in such undeserving pain. I am speechless… Rest in peace, you inspiring woman. Your soul and inner beauty exceeded the external perfection, Stella. May you ride high above us all on the most perfect horse, eternally in peace.”

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, awards shows have had to reimagine their usual formulas for red carpets, host’s monologues, speeches and so-forth in order to follow safety precautions. So in place of the traditional MTV Movie & TV Awards, this year’s special event celebrated all kinds of pop cultural touchstones from the ‘80s until now!

Throughout the 90-minute special, the biggest and best moments in TV and Movie history were honored. From Jason Segel and Kristen Bell’s heartbreaking breakup in Forgetting Sarah Marshall to Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore as a Dynamic Duo in 50 First Dates, this unconventional awards show was a chance to reminisce.

But it wasn’t just the nostalgia that we loved. We also couldn’t take our eyes off the sexy fashion. Vanessa Hudgens hosted the affair, taking this opportunity as a chance to whip out her chicest looks. It was her red carpet ensemble that really did it for Us, though. With its simple silhouette, sleek fabric and standout accessories, the whole thing was a total knockout.

Lily Collins also went for something that was equal parts sophisticated and sexy. The Emily in Paris star donned a latex Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello dress that hugged her figure. She combined this outfit with a sultry makeup look created by makeup artist Fiona Stiles using Lancôme products. “I wanted to create a very chic, sophisticated look for Lily for the MTV Awards,” Styles said. “Her Saint Laurent dress was very cool and edgy and I wanted to compliment that with a refined, elegant look.” So she gave her a smokey eye, killer brows and a mauve lip that’s just to die for.
